Who the heck is Rick Beato?

No idea, but I came across a video about one of the Bostom songs recently.

Been watching his videos for a year. Yes the Boston video is tops. I am a huge Boston fan but never understood the depth of their music until I saw the vid. More than a feelin'

Toolmanmike, I was just gonna post that! Great episode to hear how the music / instruments sound like by themselves and how different and awesome they sound mixed together!

Rick has a ton of videos on the tube. I’ve seen many. Some I like better than others but overall pretty good..
This is one to watch too!

I just watched the Frampton interview. Beato did a great job even if he was just winging it.

On a sad note, I saw an interview with CBS News where Frampton talked about having an incurable muscular disease (Inclusion-Body Myositosis) where he would lose his ability to play, etc. :(

For me, Classic Rock, Southern Rock (but NOT country) are my favorite songs, by far.
Some 60s all 70s and 80s, and about the only 90s music I like is by bands that made it in the previous decades mentioned.
Boston was one of my top 5. Brad Delp's suicide hit me hard...very sad :(
After Brad Delp left the band, I tried to "like Boston" but I found that it was boring and more of Tom Sholtz just showcasing his guitar and music machine inventions.
Barry Goudreaux had a single album that had the hit song "Dreams" and Delp sang on that album.
Also Return To Zero was an outstanding CD, made by Goudreaux and Delp.
Unlike Van Halen, who was great with David Lee Roth AND great with Sammy Hagar, Boston died to me when Delp left.

Hearing Brad Delp's singing, with his voice isolated, literally brings tears to my eyes.
No Brad, you were never alone, and I'm sorry that you believed that lie of Satan, and took your own life. :(

Boston by Boston is one of the highest selling 1st albums of ALL time.
Boston: Don't Look Back was released in 78, Boston in 76. It took 10 years for 3rd Stage to be released, despite huge demand for the 3rd album, Tom Sholtz would not be rushed.

I thought I was the only one. Such a huge talent.

Like I said, he was never alone.
Thanks for posting that. He had a fiance at the time too. The Desolate One has claimed the mortal lives of some of our best, brightest, and most talented people of all time.

Boston and The Doobies were my 2 all time favorites back in the 70's.

Michael McDonald with the Doobie Brothers was a must combo.
McDonald sang with a number of bands in that era, but he was part of the Doobie Brothers sound that was a critically important aspect of the mix.

Great post and so true! Brad’s voice and the music of Boston touched tons of people, as well as many other bands too!

I’ve been listening to Boston since day 1. I’ve listened to More Than a Feeling 100’s of times just listening and learning to play it. It wasn’t until I heard how Rick separated the tracks like he did, did I hear Brads voice through a lot of what was going on. We all new it was special but holy cow what he was able to do vocally. Simply amazing.

There are many artists out there and many more die for various reasons, but few do I remember hearing about and it stopping you in your tracks in disbelief. Brad was one of those!

I’ve got some of the early Boston demos in the studio computer. I’ll pull them out in the next couple days and figure a way to post if I can..they’re pretty raw but the songs that we know are in there...

I agree 110%. That would be cool! I would love to hear them.

I often wondered if Brad stopped singing and a guitar took over but after listening to Rick's videos I know the truth.

Funny, I feel the opposite & I just can't listen to that guy sing. His voice is flatter than Ringo's.
