1968 Sport Satellite convertible. Code 529. Wide sill moldings

What are these?

Are they the rocker moldings?

Or are they the entry sill plates?

They make it sound like they are still plates, but it’s optional equipment. I’ve never seen a car without sill plates.

I’m confused. LOL. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Eric

They're considerably wider than even the factory promo pics indicate IMO.
I have them for mine, just decided to leave them off - for now, anyways:

The problem with doing that is there are the holes for the molding clips down there exposed....
I just think the car looks a lot cleaner (and ok, meaner) without all the "gingerbread".
