Thanks for that info , i was under the impression that i needed a "special" mount to use a later trans with a 64' crossmember . Car is getting a AlterKation front end so not sure what will happen with exact engine mount location.
I am using a Altercation front suspension in my 65 Belvedere and I ordered it with B engine mounts but, found out the Indy Max block has hemi style mounts. Got new mounts from Bill and shoved the engine and trans back as far as I could. That led to cutting out my new floor pan trans bulge and fabbing one like DVW did in his 64. I also fabbed a new crossmember and incorporated a spool mount. Then (snowballing) I replaced the entire drive shaft tunnel (in my new floorpan) to accommodate the GV overdrive unit. Been working on this project for 10 years now and I think I'm about ready to send it back to the body shop for paint. Hooray! Mike

Great looking work ,Mike. Do you think the Gear venders unit would have a problem being too big to fit into any stock drive shaft tunnel in an early B body?. I did my floors repairs/ painting already and i'm strongly considering a Gear Venders.

You're in the same boat I was.

Well I asked and you guys recommended! After using my local guy to rebuild the trans in my pristine 64 Sport Fury convertible 426-S it lasted all of two weeks. Actually it never was right. I did what I should have done in the first place and had Keith Long (727specialist) build me one utilizing one of his nice cores with 67 & up internals and a new 2800-3000 stall converter. It arrived in a very reasonable time frame with output flange included. I installed it this past Friday evening, filled it with ATF4, hit the key and breathed a sig of relief after good firm engagement in R & D. Test drive was the best I had witnessed after owning this car for 15 months. I was finally happy. Back on the lift and up there were zero drips, dry as powder. Again, elated! 7 hours later I was able to attend our last big show here in my area where the Sport Fury garnered best in class out of 22 cars. Thank you Keith for putting an end to my nightmare and providing me with a trans I know will last me for a VERY long time! And thank you to the FBBO community that led me to the right decision! Hello B body forum.
I wish I did not have to post this. However, Tranzact of Indy, Race Parts Wholesale Indianapolis, Joe Chrisman is not responding to any of my messages after I sent him a deposit for one of his Ultraflite transmissions on May 10th, 2021. We spoke on the phone several times, however over the last four months he will not answer the phone at (317) 846-4933, emails to [email protected], or certified letters sent to his address 503 North Arthur Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46280. Does someone know how to contact him? I hope he is not trying to keep this money without doing his job. I also do not want anyone in this community to have this happen.
Thanks for any help!

I can’t believe he would be like that. Must be a logical explanation. Kim
