50x70 Garage House - FULL TOUR and COST Breakdown

It looks like he put a lot of thought into it, but I thought it was code everywhere to have the garage at least 4" lower than the house due to vapors?

The video shows about a 4" step up when walking through the door...

All in all a very good build at age 24...

There are a few things that life experience would have showed him that he would have done differently if he was a little older...I'll leave it at that...

God it sucks to be jealous of a 24 year old...

As I have already had a garage fire I'm happy with my barn being remote from my house and I do not think my supervisor/wife would like all the noise I can generate not to mention the smells!

Cool video.
LOL I didn't have a pot to piss in when I was his age, let alone have the money or credit to do a major purchase like that.

He makes 1 million per year on YouTube!! Youtube makes people rich, thats how he was able to afford this! I know 1st hand by having 100,000 subs and decent views you make nearly 20,000 per month on youtube!!

Great video. Good to see a guy so young has his head screwed on the right way.
Making $1 Million per year on youtube helps a person keep themselves straight and happy!! Yes thats what he makes, ther eis a site that says he earns up to $5xx,*** per year, but knowing 1st hand how youtube works ..With as little as 100,000 subs you can earn nearly $20,000 PER MONTH $240,000 per year! Youtube made more average people who would have struggled with bad jobs very wealthy,I know!!

This concept is what I and my buddies have talked about for many years.
Not sure if it's a good thing or not but our wife's usually bring us back to reality pretty quickly.

Very informative. I look forward to having a pole myself. Ive dreamed about it for years and I am finally going to build one this coming summer. Cant wait. Where I live though, they wont allow living quarters in a pole barn.:realcrazy:Once I get it done, Ill post a pic of it.

What part of Indiana do you live? I know of a couple of pole barns with living quarters here in Madison county NE of Indy. I could live in our shop if I had to, it’d be a little rough to live with the fumes at times, though.

I live in the NW corner of Indiana in a town called Schererville. Not only can you NOT build living quarters in a pole barn but you cant even build a pole barn on a certain property without a homestead. No house, no barn. Thats their way of keeping people from living in the pole barn. Lastly, you have to have a minimum of 10 acres to be able to put a pole barn on it.

Interesting thread...

I could never do what I wanted in a attached garage...fumes was always a problem.

My thought of doing a house and shop together...don't have any door that connects them. Harder for fumes 2 travel and a wall is a better fire barrier then a door.

And he cheaped out on flooring, a decent kitchen, heat & a/c? That place is ok for a guy whose planning on being single forever, but the living space just isn't set up right. What keeps the heat from going upstairs into the uninsulated 2nd floor? Who wants to see a water heater in the living area & you'll notice that the only way to get into the bathroom is through the bedroom.

Your garage looks incredible. How much does it cost you to renovate it? I also have a garage, and I plan to renovate it, but I don't know how much it will cost to renovate it. One of my friends renovated his house some weeks ago, and he told me that there are many good platforms on the internet where it is possible to evaluate the cost of building or renovating a house. When he made his house, he calculated the expenses on https://www.boutiquehomeplans.com/cost-to-build.
