That is exactly how my 70 V-code is optioned, but I've made some changes, and mine came Lemon Twist and black.
The gloss on the paint is beautiful!
As much as I like B5 blue on a sunny day, InViolet has become my 2nd favorite Mopar color (Lemon Twist with Black being my favorite). If I had a B-Body convertible, I would forgo the Lemon Twist and black combo for a Plum Crazy/InViolet exterior paint w/white stripes because that purple goes better with a white top and interior, white being a MUST for a convertible!

I'm not taking out another loan.
My wife would be pissed.
Not necessarily in that order.
It's BEAUTIFUL!
PS: I noticed a color shift between the front cap and the rest. Cap looks lighter.

I don't see any point in putting it back to original as most of the parts are gone and its so much fun to bracket race. It is titled and tagged but definitely is not street legal. I really want to put a flat hood or six pack hood on the car, just not a big fan of the cowel. I've also considered putting on a superbird nose and a wing and getting some laughs at the drag strip. When was the last time you saw a "superbird" pull the wheels at the tree? Oh, and I'm the kid in the picture in case you were wondering.

Sorry to take so long to get to your question. I often get busy and go weeks or longer before I log on. Anyway, to answer your question, here's an excerpt from an article I wrote for a magazine: After High School, I had a full time job and had managed to save a few bucks. One Saturday morning in June of 1970 as I sat at the kitchen table having coffee and reading the paper, what did I find in the auto sales section but an advertisement from Glendale Chrysler Plymouth for new Road Runners. I was always checking out new car ads anyway but this ad practically jumped off the page at me. For those who remember, by mid-year 1970 the muscle car era was rapidly coming to an end. Cars were getting too fast and gas and insurance was getting too expensive. It seemed everywhere big brother was starting to come down on muscle cars. It was also starting to affect sales and this particular dealer had over-ordered a bunch of 1970 Road Runners. They were anxious to clear out their inventory before the new models started arriving. The ad said something like “Special Weekend Sale, any Road Runner on back lot $2699”. After I got my eyes back into their sockets I hopped in the old Chevy pickup and headed to the dealership. Upon arriving I quickly found the ‘birds’ that were on sale parked in the back lot. I was mesmerized. I couldn’t have been more excited than if I’d just walked into the High School cheerleaders locker room at shower time. There was over a dozen 70 Road Runners. All were 383 cars with about half being autos and half pistol grip four speeds. The colors varied including Plumb Crazy purple, Butterscotch, Mango Orange and Limelight just to name a few. I was like a kid in a candy store. Seeing so many brand spanking new Road Runner muscle cars all in one place was almost overpowering. Gathering my wits about me, I knew I wanted a pistol grip four speed and, at that time, I didn’t want one of the more wild or unusual colors. After spending a good amount of time checking out each car I zeroed in on a Lime Green Metallic four speed car with tan interior. It had an AM radio, black hood stripe, hood pins, rally wheels and a dust trail decal running down the side into the quarter panel scoop. That was it, no other options, no power steering, no a/c or any other ‘power robbing’ options. Exactly what I was looking for! [Sidebar: VIN RM21N0E132917 Significant reward if anyone knows the whereabouts of this car.] After I spoke to the salesman and got the deal worked out with my trade in, I was still a little short so my uncle came down and cosigned a small loan for me to make up the difference. That’s one of the nicest things anyone ever did for me, I’ll never forget his kindness for helping me obtain the car of my dreams. Thanks Uncle Ken! Before long I was on my way home with a brand new Road Runner listening to the radio playing “Stairway to Heaven” by Lead Zeppelin. :)

This one is out of a 43 year slumber. Currently bringing it back to the road, going to be a spring startup!

The first tracks for Stairway were recorded in December 1970, the song wasn't completed until the next year. Maybe something similar sounding was on the radio at the time? Doesn't matter, you likely were just grinning from ear to ear with the new car! :)
