Time for a show lets see the 71-74's

Ha ha, I thought about the painted/cap thing, I like that look too and would have been pretty unique. In the end, with chrome bumpers fore and aft and not much in between, I thought the chrome Rallyes would balance that out. Works for me. Wider wheels made a big difference. 275/60/15 rear and 255/60/15.

Fun time #1!

Does this car have 14x6 wheels with F70-14 tires?
MG68- yes, if you are referencing the RR, that is what it should be - the car is originally TB3, with matching painted wheels. Car was painted sometime in the late 80's. My mission is to put it back to original color for 2022. The Charger was a standard 318,904 SE with F78's and wire covers. Now, warmed up 440, 4 speed, 4:10, with pw, and power ASC sunroof. Thanks for asking.

No, I replied to the post by "Ming" showing the light green 71 Super Bee 383 Magnum (on page 92). That is the car I was asking if it has 14x6 wheels with Polyglas F70x14 tires.

But since you responded, what are the current wheel and tire sizes shown on the black 72 Road Runner? And the black 73/74 Charger?

So originally your black RR was Basin Street Blue, with TB3 14x6 steel wheels.

I had a GB5 71 Challenger Deputy 318, that originally came with GB5 14x5 steel wheels with center caps and brushed trim rings. It also had factory white side stripes without the R/T lettering. Had 225/70/14 Goodyear Eagle ST tires on them which were too wide for the rims.

I later replaced the 14x5 with junkyard sourced 15x7 steel wheels which I painted GB5 and transferred the original center caps onto. I never put trim rings on the 15x7. I did the wheel change in 1992. Back then I paid about $35 each for the 15x7 wheels, and about $50 to have all 4 of them sandblasted. The wheels were black when I bought them. Tires were 245/60/15 Eagle ST.

My 74. 400 P code. Still need to get the vinyl top trim back on. Can't find the correct clips. The ones everyone is selling on eBay don't work!

We used to have a member 521restorations or JSBrown. Can't remember his user name.

Anyway, he is an ebay seller under jsbrown and has some oddball trim clips.

I was asking about BSM clips for my 73 Satellite and he tooled up and ran a batch.

I may have some used ones if you're desperate.

I am. I can send you a picture of the correct clip next to the ones being sold. Close, but not the same and trim would fly off if they were used. I think I've bought from 521 before. Used or not doesn't matter, if they hold the trim down I'm a happy camper! lol

@Coronet67guy

I will look next time I am at the shop.

Should be either today or tomorrow depending on rain.

I briefly had a loaded 74 318 sunroof Charger in white with a jade green interior.
I like that green MUCH better than the F6 of my Satellite int (it is growing on me, tough)

Sounds great. I had a 73 318 charger in about the same color. Photo shows clips being sold online for 74 vinyl trim that don't work. Bottom clip is the original clip. I have the mopar number for it somewhere. Thanks again.

Looks like the thin top tab is real easy to break off.

Wanna put money on what percentage of any that I find are broken like that?

I don't think the originals had that flimsy piece. Not sure. The original clip itself was just a little wider so the trim snapped on tight.

My 74 RR still lives. I bought this car back in 77, it was gun metal grey, 318 3spd white/plaid interior. I put a 340 4 spd in it and painted it yellow Emron. Ended up spinning a rod bearing and traded it in on a 74 Challenger in 78 amd lost track of this. A friend sent me this picture taken last summer at a car show. Glad to see it is still around.
