Everytime they tell me its ready, it never really is...
I'm trying to not let it bother me. Tomorrow I'll make a couple of tech support calls, and be on my way to getting it fixed up. I feel a LOT better knowing that we weren't cooking the 421 yesterday, that was just rebuilt about 3½ years ago, and the 290° and almost to the "H" on the water temperature gauge was a false reading. It was a really bad experience in and of itself, plus running out of gas because that gauge wasn't setup properly, and my wife's disappointment and frustration, and that it should have been a very happy time of celebration...Everytime they tell me its ready, it never really is...
View attachment 801297 Thanks for the reminder. I think these colors are in-range.
I wouldn't mix. The color is an indicator of the corrosion inhibitor type. We know for sure you can't mix with NOAT so any claim that it can mix with anything sounds like BS.What is you guys opinion on this Peak product that claims it can be mixed with any color coolant? It is yellow and missing the diptassium phosphate that is in the green stuff.

So what do you guys think is the best coolant to use in a iron block aluminum head stroker motor that are so popular nowadays?
And that my friend is the $64,000 question for the engineers on here. So glad we have such a diverse membership on this site.
...add an aluminum radiator to the mix...
AND I'll ask:
I'm switching to a Cold Case aluminum radiator now, but I still have iron block and heads.
When the aluminum cylinder heads equipped aluminum BMP 541 stroker block go in, I'll have the "Trifecta" aluminum heads, block, radiator...
What is the best coolant to use with all that ALUMINUM?
Macbeth....sorry, I'm a bit of a nerd. The secret ingredient is the "proprietary inhibitors"..... Perhaps this is what the three witches used when they were brewing their magic elixir (from Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew).....eye of newt is very powerful ingredient.
Having worked in a glycol production facility, ethylene glycol and propylene are both colorless as produced. The dye color is added after formulation by the blender to distinguish between Dexcool and the "green" stuff plus what ever corrosion inhibitors the formulator needed.
BOB RENTON
I know the BMP block is 357-T6, which is a stronger aluminum alloy, ideal for block material. The TrickFlow 270 heads are A356-T61 aluminum.what is the SPECIFIC ALLOY (example 6061-T6) of the aftermarket equipmen
The three witches...Macbeth....sorry, I'm a bit of a nerd.
I stand corrected.....You are correct it is Macbeth......thank you for the rescue....Macbeth....sorry, I'm a bit of a nerd.
