My polyester or nylon or similar man made fabric that covers the majority of my Scat Procar yellow and black bucket seats has black fingerprints, streaks, and other grease or "shop grime" marks on them. They were out of the car for most of the shop time, but DAMN!
Anyway, I can test an "inconspicuous area" to see if there are any negative effects (other than weakening the material) of any cleaning products or techniques that may be recommended by any of you and I absolve all advisors who offer sincere recommendations for a way to clean them.
Here's a couple of older pix. Just imagine shop funk grease marks on my beautiful yellow fabric.
:mad::mob::soapbox: PLEASE HELP!

I can tell you that starting fluid removes grease from light colored carpet without distorting the surrounding area.

:thumbsup: :lowdown:your advice:thankyou::praying:
I am going to start (no pun intended) with that. I assume you mean the stuff that comes in the spray can.
I am very grateful for the advice!

Dawn soap, warm water, and plenty passes of both with a soft/medium bristle toothbrush would be my approach

if going starter fluid maybe spray into a cup first then dip a toothbrush in it and use to scrub

I would try a Wax/Grease Remover - it should be in the hardware store, or maybe the auto store probably in the paint section. Then rinse with clean water.

Oh and by the way, that does SUCK! Why can't people take care?

There is a product in the grocery store called Spot-Shot . . . . Works great on carpets, even blood

All-Off
magic eraser
ether- quick start
the all-off is safe the other 2 may produce bad results!

there was a product called grease- off in a yellow spray bottle , use to sell it at truck stops, not sure if it's still on the market!

If you can find a cleaner called "Spray 9". I have used it in he past for the same problem. I think it it still being made. (It''s in a pump bottle, not an areosol.)

Gojo hand cleaner. Buy the original, non scented with no pumice. Work into the fabric with soft toothbrush. Rinse after you see the grease start to break up.

spray9 is one I forgot about! something about that stuff I hate, maybe the smell! can't be worse than ether though!

Simple Green, I've used that S#%@ on everything. Great grease/grime remover without hurting things.

And a baseball bat to the moron's head that did this! :mob:

Believe it or not the “store brand” degreaser that the Dollar Store sells is pretty damn good! I was shocked how well it works.... the usual you get what you pay for exceeded my expectations removing grease from metal parts, I’ve never tried it on fabrics. It comes in a clear bottle and is yellow in color. I’ll post a pic later if I still have it in my garage.

Here it is..... it’s in the house cleaning section. Large bottle and it’s only $1

read what it kills, you will be impressed
:thumbsup: :lol:
That is how I selected from available Octane Boosters at a Pep Boys store once, to bring with me and my wife to go buy her GTO. It was an 11.25:1 CR from the factory, and I wanted to give it a chance to perform well on the test drive. The more warnings, whale species it threatened, and butterflies it killed, THAT was the one I wanted!
