I need a close up up picture of the starter splash shield fasteners that mount it to the frame rail. On a 69 charger. Thanks in advance, Tony Tee.

Thy take a 3/8" socket and have a flanged bottom to them.

Is this splash shield on automatics or 4 speed cars? Or on all cars?

Not sure! Richard craniums picture is a 4 speed and my car is a 4 speed. And all of my automatic 2nd generation Chargers in the past didn't have them . But a friend of mine with a 68 automatic 383 had one.

In spite of that picture that I posted showing it on a 4-speed car, as I understand, the shield came on automatic cars only. The bolts do not have a captive washer, rather the bottom is flanged wider than the bolt head and I believe that they have knurls on the underside surface of them.

I had one on my automatic, but was not sure about a 4 speed car.
Thank you

Ok, great! I'll be looking through my large bucket of miscellaneous mopar fasteners tonight.

I bet a lot these starter splash shields were left off after replacing the starter or when they had front end work done. So if the 4 mounting holes in the frame rails are threaded? Then it had one.

The 4 holes are in the frame rail whether they were auto or 4 speed. The threads on the bolts were coarse like a wood screw. I'll pull one out of mine & take a picture of it later on.

I would have thought the transmission would have nothing to do with whether it got a starter shield or not. I figured they all had them. I bought a 4 speed Charger R/T new in 68 but 52 years of brain fade has taken it's toll. I know it had a starter so I'm betting it had a shield.

Those won't work for the starter splash shied... those are for the rear of the fender area where the emergency brake cable curves around. I have those. But Thanks for trying to find them for me.!
Wrong splash shield. :BangHead::BangHead:

If you can't find your original ones PM me i have those
