We have a long way to go to correct and update the current grid system. You're right, we're not ready yet. Infrastructure first, then we'll Talk.

Solar and wind will have their place but will never be the answer. The green people just need to get over it.We have a long way to go to correct and update the current grid system.
No doubt they are to stupid to live in Nebraska. There are areas that can be driven for hours without seeing another human. You have had windmills for over 100 years. I have seen a few in the sandhills pumping water. The global warming and green fools do not live in severe weather areas. They have never LIVED -30 in the winter and +110 and humid in the summer like the midwest. I have to laugh, they live in san fran, think we should all have electric cars, windmills, and solar. They live where the washing machine can be outside, I live where it can't be on an outside wall.
They are woke and think they know everything, but are dumb as a box of rocks.
We are in the South West Power Pool. Starts in north Texas and goes all the way to Canada. There will be roaming power outages do to high power demands. Outages are supposed to last anywhere for 20 to 60 minutes. Also been asked to conserve utilities to prevent mass outages.
We are presently going threw one of the coldest and longest stretch's recorded.
This is the first I ever remember induced power outages in this region.
This must have been created by the global warming idiots.
Just be glad you don't have one of those Electric cars that the global warming fanatics love so much.
The problem is there is no SCIENCE. Only UNPROVEN THEORY. CONSENSUS.I find it funny how many people still latch onto the whole "Global warming" phrase the media perpetuated years ago. If you follow any of the science you should know that we have fubar'd the global environment, to a point that extreme weather systems, hot/cold/tornadoes/drought/flooding etc are unpredictable and the cycle of storms once every 100 years are happening more frequently and will continue to become more and more frequent. And then as we continue to mess things up how will the global weather systems adjust to a new normal? If they do eventually it will probably not be anything like the old world we grew up in.
This will only get worse as we continue to affect the environment with our unchecked human population growth and the demands this population will have for industry to provide it with all the food, amenities, that are a necessity for life, and then the trinkets and baubles the big corporations make them believe they also need.
Electric vehicles are really only useful in temperate zones, and in a fairly dense urbanized area....so yeah not practical in those Greenies can take their cars and shove 'em!

NONE of that is SCIENCE.
A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of facts that have been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experiment. Such fact-supported theories are not "guesses" but reliable accounts of the real world.
The Holocene extinction, otherwise referred to as the sixth mass extinction or Anthropocene extinction, is an ongoing extinction event of species during the present Holocene epoch (with the more recent time sometimes called Anthropocene) as a result of human activity.

Global Warning
Made it through without any damage but man, I'm worn out now from not much sleep and making sure everything wasn't freezing up. I have 4 outside faucets and had them all wrapped up good but when the power went down, that's when I started to worry because my gen had crapped out too. Got another gen within 8 hours of it messing up but wasn't able to get the temp of the house up to a good temp to help the pipes in the attic stay above freezing by much but I guess it was enough. Think I'd rather have hurricanes lol
yeah 254 I knew that too,2 5 4 counties! And yes, all of them were under storm warnings.....
IMO, being the gooobernor of Texas is more like being the president of a small country lolyeah 254 I knew that too,
