Denver is worse but here's my driveway.

Blizzard on a Sunday night, every kids dream scenario. No School and great sledding tomorrow.
I would have expected that after the lockdowns that kids wouldn't be able to get out of schooling since so many districts switched to computer distance learning.

Like the good old days.

Had the snow blower out yesterday (Poulan Pro 24"), and there is a honest 24" of snow in open areas, with 3-4 foot snow drifts.
Snow is pretty heavy too since it was not all that cold, so it was putting the snow blower to the test.

Just got rain over here in the valley but all the mountains around the valley got snow. I was gong to take a friend to the airport but his flight got cancelled because DIA is still shut down this morning and he had to fly through there. I lived in Denver during the Blizzard of 91. Spent 18 hours stuck in my van on I-25

Just starting to snow here west of Chicago! One last time I hope!

It pretty much stopped accumulating after my last pic. I've been out shoveling. I'm on a break. It's what we call a heart attack snow, really heavy and wet. Lots of neighbors have snowblowers in the third bay of their garage. Our is full of engine blocks.

Even in 4WD it's iffy on my street. It's 45 degrees now with the sun bearing down. Too hot for a coat. I don't know if there's a genetic component to it but I'm Norwegian and I like cold and snow. I wish I could play and work with cars more but after about 60 degrees, I'm getting pretty warm. The sun really affects things here. At our elevation, if the sun is out in the winter it's fairly warm. In the summer if it's a cloudy day it can be really cool.

It ain't over yet either
another storm just came thru here
early this am & dumped another foot
it's mostly gone now, moving east pretty damn quick too
I think it may be staying south of the Denver area,
more towards southern Utah,
according to the 'weather prognosticators'
supposed to be yet another storm too,
like wed.-thur. this week moving thru here & going east too

that stupid rodent "Phil" said;
"winter was gonna last another 6 weeks"
for once it was correct

stay warm people,
throw another log on the fire

I pity the people upcountry from me,
they got in feet what I got in inches
my cousin 11 miles upcountry had like 35 trees go down,
mostly smaller trees, wet snow & refreeze several times
then roads all blocked, no plows no power co. etc.
good thing he had a lot of firewood & propane
he was out of power for like 10 days, couldn't get in or out
no cell service, no landline phones, no mail delivered
fallen trees crossing the roads, way deep snow to drive-thru etc.

it could always be worse

As much I am enjoying the 40s 50s 60s this month in WI

I keep telling myself , don’t bury the Blower just yet
