How much time can one spend on hemi valve covers and tubes!

Well I’ve sunk a ton of time in making these valve covers work! Had to put some clearance bumps in them on the exhaust side to clear the stage V rockers and valve springs. Sand blasted them and fabricated two wire loom tabs and welded them for the passenger side cover.
Then wrinkle painted them at least two times each to get them to wrinkle correctly and match
and after all that find out they are a mismatched set. No biggie right?well wrong.passenger side plug tube length is an odd length. So had to lengthen the tubes for that side 3/16” (the o ring recess isn’t as deep as the driver side one)
so finally they are all done! Here’s a few pics

Learned something interesting on the tube modification too. I was thinking about how to lengthen them and have one welded joint and thought just buy 4 tubes and cut what’s needed
to add to them. Then I thought hey I have a couple slant six heads at my dads place what’s the chances the plug tubes are the same other than the lip and length. Well low and behold they were an exact match to tip and diameter

This is new to me have been using Hemis for a long time. I guess its cause i dont use the stock valve covers. You can buy an after market set media blast them and powder coat for 100.00

I have a brand new aftermarket set they suck the stud holes are punched offset and
the wire loom brackets are welded on at a backwards angle and would take way more work to fit them. at least one of the ones i’m using is an original and the other has the plug wire loom welded on in the correct orientation and is well made repop from who knows when. I know there’s plenty of aftermarket cast and fabricated covers out
there but i just don’t care for the look of any of them.
