sort of more horse country, ranchlands, much flatter & hotter
(more tweakers too closer to the valley)

Gorgeous day today, makes me appreciate dealing with the cold and damp overcast all day on the
tractor yesterday, getting my chores done so that we could relax today.
Mid-70's, sunny all to heck and low humidity, check and check-check.

Took a nice drive out some previously unexplored tiny country roads near here...
and got equal parts nervous (I heard banjo music a couple times) and blown away by the scenery.
Rule #1 of country life: If the sign says "Turn Around NOW"....you comply.

As far as I can imagine with my limited experiences, the weather in this state is the greatest aspect.
That would be really hard to walk away from. It rarely ever gets muggy and humid here. It does, but not often.
If I could turn a blind eye to the politics, taxes and regulations, I'd see no reason to leave. I will try to keep within the lines here but it is really sad when the reason for leaving is due to the oppressive Government. I can afford to stay but it feels like doing so validates the incompetent government policies.

Last summer...

Dry as a bone though. It really does matter. You sweat but you don't soak your shirt unless you're working and moving. You can sit in the shade in 110 here and not break a sweat.

20 years ago, I took the family to Schlitterbahn water park in New Braunfels TX in early August. It was 105 during the day & low 90's at night. Thankfully, we were in the water all day, but waiting in line at some rides in that hot sun was brutal. The part was a blast!

Saw this family group when I was driving to work today. The big boy on the left would be over a ton, and taller then six feet at the hump. They are still together in family groups but the bulls will separate soon. Currently they are docile and pretty safe to be around, that all changes later in the summer.
These are not farm, park, or tame bison, these are totally and completely free and wild. They do pretty much whatever they want. There’s thousands of them up here. They wander through town, **** on your lawn, wreck your fence, eat your garden. One day I was painting in the school. There was a huge Buffalo leaning against the wall under a classroom window. You could stand literally a foot away from him, examining him through the window. It was crazy.

The reason that they fit into the thread is that it is a beautiful warm day here. With snow still being in the bush the buffs are out eating the green sprouts along the highway.

Around 90* it's fine. Above 100* IT'S HOT ! For fun I took my laser Temp tool and checked the Concrete,Asphalt, Roof Shingles.
