Well I'll finally get a good test of my cooling system and a/c next week. 110 last week and did well. Had a 115 day last yr w electric fans that did well in slow traffic and idle but horrible on interstate. But next week I finally get a real world test of my mechanical fan and factory shroud.

please let us know how it works out next week.

For reference, 383 stroked to 496, 610hp on dyno. 26" Entropy 2 row aluminum radiator. Each row is 1.25". Flowkooler water pump, reverse rotation due to serpentine pulley setup. Direct drive 11 blade 19" nylon fan from Chevy truck w 496. 180° Shaw style Mr Gasket thermostat. A/C is all stock inside car, under hood is parallel flow condenser, new lines, new dryer and compressor from '96 Durango. At 115° at idle it blows 38° at the vents.

115° ambient and 38° at the vent @ idle . No air through the condenser ?Wow !? A 77 ° drop is amazing. 57 % temp change.
Almost unbelievable. I always thought when doing customer a/c services that a 20% drop in vent vs. ambient was normal.
What exactly do your fans do at speeds above 45 mph ?

Maybe heat stroke/exhaustion?

That was last yr w the electric fans. Unfortunately on the highway, it would overheat. W the 19" 11 blade mechanical fan, I'm hoping for the same at idle. So far at 110° ambient it has. On the interstate w mechanical I'm at 176-184 cruising at 70mph in 110°. Again, next week should be the real test. Most modern a/c systems shut off w a certain high or low side pressure, not sure which. Definitely not an a/c tech. From what I was told, my system has a thermostat to shut off compressor when evaporator hits 34°. I'm definitely happy w it so far.

I know people will disagree, but I swear by that combo.
I'd love to have a fan clutch too but w the serpentine setup there is no room. I know it'll wear out my water pump shaft/seal sooner.

I'm retired, own most everything, live on the St Clair River, and I'll be on my fishing boat today - in 86° weather - and that's pushing it! I'd literally melt away in 100°+ "dry" heat!
Unfortunately!!! Own "Everything" outright. No bills, retired 8 yrs. 1 mile from the Colorado River. Spend most of my time on my boat.

I "visited" Wisconsin 2-1/2 yrs ago during the polar vortex. -50° . I spent 23yrs in the Army in all conditions, rode a motorcycle in Las Vegas for a living for 18 yrs, but -50°, no thanks. Heat is miserable, Cold hurts!!!

Here's this week's temps. I'll be taking her out around 3 today to see how she does. Engine temp, a/c, stop n go n highway. Will update later.
