Joel (hunt2elk) over in Wisconsin sent me a 1407 x 750 Edelbrock to try out on the car. The current 1412 x 800 seems to be a tad much for the 440 as set up.

Joel even threw in a jet and rod calibration set just in case I needed it, as well as the manual.

Not sure I can own a Black car though. I grabbed one of my microfiber clothes that I know I previously used to take some scratches out of the Bee's clear coat with compound and lightly wiped it across a spot on the hood and scratched the fawk out of the paint. Then grabbed a new cloth and the compound and cleaned it up SOMEWHAT but don't dare play with it any further. I guess I'm off to see the detailer in Midland, to see if he can clean up the entire car and advise me how NOT to touch it again.

That really bothered me with my black Charger as well. Anytime you would touch the car, it would put a microscopic scratches in the clear. With any other color it wouldn't really be noticeable, but with black it was really pronounced.
 
Black can be a challenge. I've owned several Black cars one was a '64 Polara 500. They're beautiful when clean especially with all the chrome but five minutes after you have them all cleaned up they start to get dirty again.

McGuires has many great products for easy cleaning and protection. Diamond Cut is tried and true the greatest for buffing out all the imperfections. Use a buffer with variable speed and a foam pad. Red pad for a more aggressive cut.

#9 Swirl Remover is great for those fine scratches that develop over time. Use a machine or by hand. A yellow pad is best for this step when using a machine.

#6 Cleaner Wax works great to clean and apply a thin film of wax that doesn't build up like other waxes. Easy on and easy off. I only use soft white cotton rags for all of these steps.

Don't by the red bottles from Walmart. Buy only the tan bottles from a paint supplier or online vendors.
 
My Windsor-built 1964 Polara has body colored trunk area. I ordered the large trunk cardboards from Classic Industries. These were on Polara's and Fury's.
Although not possibly correct on lower models, they will fit and clean up the area, especially if you want to hide body work of welding in lower rear quarters.

Came home in the dark to find this on our back step. Paid for it 1.5 months ago and have had many a restless night thinking I'd been scammed for $1150US of my hard earned dough. Freshly triple chromed rear bumper for the 440. Too tired to unwrap it, so tomorrow we'll know if it's correct and exactly what I bought.

Holy smokes that re-chroming sure is getting expensive. But it’s one of those things that a guy can’t do himself so bite the bullet. Going to be very nice when it’s finished up

The cost of chrome these days a person has to wonder about scam. . Has to be an expensive process in these times. Merry Xmas to you Fran!
 
$250 is shipping alone from California. This is a freshly done bumper, I did not have to supply the core. It just better be the correct bumper... time to go unwrap.

FYI, I paid $1400 Cdn to have my OE 'Bee bumper done here in Ontario 3 years ago.

As for the "scam", first I spent 3 weeks getting the guy to change his listing so I could "buy" the advertised bumper. Even though he listed it as "ships all over the world" he had his settings to US only buyers. Then he had shipping set at $750.. and guaranteed he'd change that to actual once I hit buy it now and that he did. Then he disappeared again, went on a weeks Thanksgiving holiday and then called me and told me "the bumper isn't done yet, you didn't think I was using my own money and having them ready sitting on the shelf". Nothing in the listing about this, showed a completed bumper ready to go. Then when it finally came out of chrome he "wasn't happy with it, they scratched it and we have to run it through again". Another week and I question where it was and he says shipping tomorrow and Ebag gives me a tracking #. That # has never been picked up, but I came home to a bumper last night, so x your fingers...

Well "Happy Little Camper" certainly DOESN'T describe my mood right now! Ding'd for brokerage and 13% tax on this thing and it's not even mine, explains the tracking # change. Should be fun trying to get it back to California and who knows where the fawk mine went... No email reply and not answering his phone. Hope the 80+ year old didn't croak! It WAS packed well though... FFS...
