Accurate fuel sending unit??

Anyone know of a manufacturer that sells an accurate aftermarket sending unit for a 1967 coronet? It’s a 5/16” outlet that should read 10 ohms full and 73 empty per the service manual. I purchased a new one from summit and even calibrated it before I installed it and still reads incorrect. Thanks in advance.

Aftermarket? no. Have your original rebuilt. There's threads here and on FABO about the subject.

Nobody makes a sending unit that reads like an original. Originals were nonlinear and all the new ones are not. If you want it to read correctly, there are places that can rebuild you original. Otherwise, you just have to bend things around to get it to read close enough.

Just get one of these. Simple to install and you can set the low and high side to your liking. I put one in. Empty tank and added 3 gallons. Set the E side so the needle was dead on E. Filled it to the brim and set the full side to one needles width past the F mark.

It is. Ticked me off when I put my car back together and the fuel reading was way off. This was recommended so I figured I would try it. I just went by the easy base settings. There is a lot more plus a low fuel light option.

I thought I saw Speedway Motors had one for less than $84.

Agreed. Here's where the problem lies. The shape of the sender boards, non linear (original) vs linear (repops)

Just go to the instructions. I put mine above the kick panel. 4 wires. One a ground, two a keyed 12 volt power source, three wire going to the tank. four wire going to the gauge. You will need to cut the wire in half at the kick panel for three and four.

When I purchased my 67 Charger 2 years ago, not running, it had a red light indicator in the dash and the wires were through the firewall and went into the bulkhead on the firewall. I posted photos of this red light in my dash and asked what the light might be connected to and nobody on the Forum had any idea. So I removed it. Now I see that it was the LOW fuel indicator light. Interesting stuff.

No it is not factory, I knew that. I was surprised to find that the part is actually sold on Tanksinc. that's all I meant.
