Hello all. I purchased my 67 R/T about three years ago and noticed that even though I’m 6 foot tall, I seem to sit low and far back from the pedals. So I decided to investigate a learned that apparently, the previous owner must have been very tall and removed the factory seat rails and replaced them with angle iron.

Well, I decided to tackle this problem and purchased a set of correct, factory seat rails. I planned on installing floor insulation and thought this would be an opportune time. Here are the seats now with the correct rails.

This is the issue I am having. I cannot seem to locate factory holes on the floor pan that line up with the seat rails. The previous owner had installed new floor pans and drilled holes to fit the incorrect rails. There are a couple of holes that have the correct width, but the length between holes front to back is too long. The floor pans are stating to look like Swiss Cheese. Can anyone help with the correct hole placement? Distance from sill over to first hole and distance from the rise for the back seat forward to the rear hole for the bucket seat? If I have thos dimensions, I think I can figure it out. Here is what I’m looking at now. Thanks!

The hole positions are usually indicated with a significant indentation - like someone hit the spot with a big center punch.
The outer holes for buckets versus bench seat are different BUT if you crawl under the car and look at the seat braces both the front and rear braces will have two holes which may or may not be drilled into the new floor pan. However, one of these sets of holes will be the proper set for buckets. That will give you the front to back spacing. The inner mounting holes will be directly across from the outer holes (look for the punch marks. You can determine the correct outer holes once you locate the inners by measuring the width of the studs on the seat frames..

This will work - for lack of a better answer.

Also, not sure about your model year BUT on '69's the inner frames got support plates which also serve to level the seat side to side.

There are some extra factory holes in the pan for the bench seat mount. They should receive plastic plugs when bucket seats were ordered. This may seem redundant but before putting the seats in, first move the sliders either all the way forward or all the way to the rear so they are in sync side to side. They should the fall in line with the 4 mounting holes. If the slides are not in the same position on both sides the are not going to line up with the holes. If I’m just stating the obvious please excuse me.

Your inner reinforcement plates seem to be missing. @Stanton , his picture shows them well. The outer holes can be located from under the car as he also states.

Those 66 2-piece adjustable bases add complication in getting the base tracks synchronized side to side so they drop in the holes. Have some portions of the floor pan been replaced?

We must have gotten lucky. Took the 66 bases bolted them into the 67 tops and no problem fitting to the floor. Had adjusted angles and distance beforehand. Then minor adjustments. My wife never had a problem with discomfort driving 8-9 hours at a spell.

Okay, I think I understand what you are saying. I did climb under the car and found the two sets of holes in the seat support closest to the door sill. You are saying that one of these holes is positioned for the bench seat and the other for buckets, correct? I just need to measure and see which set to use and the drill holes in the pan by positioning my bit up through the correct set of holes. Sound right?

Here are two shots of the holes. You might be able to judge from the photos where the holes are. Also note the inner support plates.

And yes, just drill up from the bottom. The holes are also quite a bit larger than the studs on the frames - probably for ease of installation at the factory.

This is awesome. Thank you! I guess my floor pans came without the inner support plates. Do you know which hole in the outer support is correct for buckets. I think it’s the inner one?

Well I’m surprised but its the outer holes

Thank you sir. I’ll get going on this. My floor pans also did not come the the mounting brackets for the console, so I had to install this as well

They generally don't come with console brackets. I bought a 1/2 floor from AMD and it had the seat support plates. I had to make the ones for the passenger side. I have an extra set for the driver side if you're interested. I can also give you the pattern for the passenger side - which I think is just a mirror of the driver side but the holes are in a different position.
