So the latch failed, and the safety hook didn't catch it? Better figure out what caused the double failure. That is a really crappy thing to have happen to a nice car!
I hate to ask, but have to wonder.... was the safety catch left off? Hmmm..... I know a lot of us have had bad experiences with the famous Mopar "Head Hook". LOLYup, the safety catch should have prevented that...

You mean you don't have one of these?Hmm I just went out and looked, is the safety latch separate from the primary latch? When I looked up hoods on AMD it said that the 68's had two latches and the 69's only one?

Secondary latch with a tennis ball on it when the hood is open. Lol. Don’t ask me how I know.Definitely should have a secondary latch... Otherwise your head would be safe....
I can’t remember seeing a Chrysler product that didn’t have a safety catch for I think maybe 60 years or more.Hmm I just went out and looked, is the safety latch separate from the primary latch? When I looked up hoods on AMD it said that the 68's had two latches and the 69's only one?
