Buying spare parts for them. Deal of the day.... 1964 casting date, working and a brand new made in USA regulator for 60 Canuck bucks and only had to drive 3 miles to get them to boot!... and so many say they have no use for Facebook! LOL

I bought a lot in the middle of town, 1.5 acres of land and a 5 acre lake some 35 years ago. Built a big house on it. It was like a park when I got done with it, 60 foot oak trees all over it. One hour on a riding mower, one hour with a push mower and one hour with a weed whacker. My son wanted to ride that mower so bad that I finally let him. Showed him how to start it, drive it, steer it, stop it, you name it, we learned it. Came home the next day from work, it was a Saturday and there was the mower up against the tree. He'd get to close and turn and the front tire would catch the tree and snap the ball joint. Three times of that happening and I got him his own rider. He drove that thing like it was a car forever. Then he got a radio controlled speed boat for the lake, man that thing flew!! Got him a paddle boat for the lake and built a boat ramp with a winch to go get the boat when it got stuck out there. When the tires went bad on his mower we got him a mini bike. I built it with him from junk and turned it into the thing that gave him his real feel of independence. Between the track we built and the 200 foot of concrete driveway, 80 feet of sidewalk, the world was his. He had a love for the smell of gas and anything that used it. I look back and don't regret a thing, those were my good old days!!!
My place sits on 1/2 acre but bought the 1/2 acre lot that was next door several years later. There's also an easement behind the property that's another 55 feet long so we had a track that spanned 100 feet wide on the lot and then after making the turn, 200 feet. That easement allowed a 900 foot go cart track that was pretty close to being kidney shaped and had berms on that empty lot and using the easement too. Used to mow it as low as possible and then rolled it. It was pretty smooth most of the time. At one point we had 3 carts and there were times when friends came over to run their carts too....kids and all. My neighbors hated it especially when there were 7 or 8 carts out there lol. My cart was modified (had a straight pipe of course) and one buddy and I were usually in competition with each other. Doing 30-35 on dirt with a yard cart feels like 60. The only rules were no racing carts and no trying to spin each other out when the kids were out there at the same time. We had a blast!!

Church in the Wild Wood

Never heard that first hymn before

I’m measuring a package tray in order to fit role cage thru the tray.
Sounds like you're working on your car :D

Not real sure about the 'rules' in the states are but that looks like it might not pass inspection here......?

I use Facebook market place too especially when I want to sell something too big to ship or is more hassle than it's wroth to ship. So far, no complaints except for all the tire kickers that respond and try to get it for little of nothing...but those are usually pretty easy to deal with.

Have a mechanic neighbor and he has some machinery or motorcycle/4 wheeler going everyday up to 9pm. A little annoying but I understand it.

I did some 9pm go cart running too but not very often. The neighbor on the other side of the 'go cart' track gave me a ton of crap the first week that I moved in long before I bought the empty lot. Him, I didn't care much about but didn't want to disturb his wife. She was a sweet woman but he was a total ahole. I could write a book on my two neighbors on either side of me....and they were buddies with each other. They are both gone now....God rest their poor souls. Both lived to bitch about whatever it was that made them bitch and that was just about everything. When I bought this place, only God knew what kind of people I was moving in between lol.

Lol Cranky.. I made the log entry and I signed it with license #. I'm good to go!

Keep in mind that I also built the airplane and floats!

115 HP 2 stroke Mercury 4-banger. It’ll do about 50 with one person, little gas and trimmed up.

Bought it from a guy from around San Antonio last July. Not bad for an ‘89.

I made a trip over to Bakersfield yesterday to get some free future planters. He works for a company making and refurbishing dirt reservoirs in the southern end of the valley. I had an idea about making some gopher proof planters that I could put some good soil in, as opposed to the sand around here. Since he is around large ag water projects he has been collecting large diameter PVC pieces for me. 8"-12" material. He was on the lookout for 30-36" material but its kind of scarce. Then I had an idea about re-using plastic 55 gal drums. He latched onto six of those that didn't have methyl ethyl bad stuff in them. The barrels will get used for my dwarf fruit trees, citrus and stone. The pipes will be used for berries and some other stuff using the 10-12". The 8" we'll use for ornamentals. All will be placed in the sand after I do LOTS of digging. They'll all get 4-6" of rock in the bottom, good gopher repellant, then layer of cloth before getting filled with soil mix. Pipes I'll cut to 2' lengths, barrels will not be cut down. Gotta love free materials to start with. Worth the trip.

Found a bad output shaft on my 1150 Suzy. Finally found a good one so I've been splitting the cases and changing it out. Also found a cracked clutch drum so I've got it all back together to that point and waiting on the new one to arrive. Everything you do these days involves waiting for parts or materials it seems.

Helping a friend clean out his dads place, and find homes for all the vehicles. Got this one running after 4 years of dormancy and drove it across the street to be cleaned up and sold.

Here's my first and last hole in the water. Got it in late 92. 1978 Mariah hull but if you look them up, there's no mention of a Mariah jet boat or one going that far back. Anyways, did some pump work on it for the guy that owned it (tightened up the impeller clearances, new shaft made from 17-4ph and a few other mods) and his brother said it was fast after that. His brother worked at the refinery is how I got hooked up with it. He told me he wanted to sell it after putting it in the water only a couple of times after doing that work and when I got it, it was the fastest I had ever been in a jet boat. A buddy of mine used to buy them in the early winter and fix them up and we'd go out in the early spring for shake down runs and some of them were pretty impressive but this one was really impressive. Thing is, I'm just not a boat kind of person but I got my money back out of it and then some. And yeah, I know....pics of pics suck. Dang 454 Chevy, tunnel ram (single 4 though)....new Bassetts and a few other nice goodies. Someone took good care of this thing. Pulled it with a 92 Dakota 5.2 reg cab swb with 3.92 gears. That worked pretty well.

Nice boat, however, jet drive boats like that one really suck the fuel as you no doubt found out.

When I want to go fast, my supercharged Yamaha jet ski will do 66 mph and is pretty fuel efficient….. unless you drive full throttle all the time.

Right, but how many can ride a jet ski or pull a skier or two or three on tubes? Did a good bit of tube riding back then but didn't do any skiing. And gas wasn't all that expensive back then but yeah, a big engine sucked it down pretty fast. And thanks....it was a nice boat and was one of the reasons I bought it. Took a chance on it being cheap and it was. Sure didn't lose any money on it except for the hassle. First time in the water was ok but the second time I forgot to put the plug back in and swamped the starter by the time I noticed lol. The 3rd time I hurt the motor.....'sqeaked' a wrist pin running 7200 R's and noticed the squeak on shut down. Freaking Chevy moder. It broke the rod when it was in the new owner's hands but I returned some money for that and he was happy. Still didn't lose any money. How many can say that with a freaking hole in the water!? :D

With the wake that kind of jet boat put out, you weren’t pulling any water skiers.

C’mon man!

You never heard of a Jetavator? Or maybe it was called a 'place deverter'....heck, I didn't get that involved with jet boats but knew when I was behind one that could blast the crap out of ya while running fast or give you a good ride at the end of the rope. Of course you weren't running 60 either.
