I don't know about y'all, but music for me,
is a powerful memory driver. This isn't
a name that tune in 3 notes kinda thing,
but, instead a string of words that bring
good, or bad memories when it comes to
identifying your favorite tunes. Example:
"Does anyone know where the love of God
goes, when the waves turn the minutes to
hours?.
I've narrowed most ot of my pleasurable
music memories to 1969. One of the best
years of B body Mopars.

"The wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald " came out in 1976, not 1969.

You're correct. My bad.
They say your memory is the first to go.
I can't remember what was second....

Back on track...
Here's a line from a top 100 song in 1969.
"Sometimes I'm right and I can be wrong"

“Wish I didn’t know now what I didn’t know then”

Now that drunk tank in Atlanta is just a hotel room to me...

Here’s another:

“You know that chick that used to dance a lot
Every night she'd be on the floor, shakin' what she's got….”

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
"Southern Accent" to be precise. Love that tune (along with so many by TPATHB)...
I used to catch hell from my headbanging buds for being into such, but that's ok - with age, they
came to see the merits of it, too.

Boys are Back in Town - Thin Lizzy, with the incomparable Phil Lynott (RIP).

That was quick! Well done! you are correct on Phil! And the band too!

Easy one: Bob Dylan, his early songs are epic

"How does it feel, how does it feel?
To be on your own, with no direction home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone"

I'll try not to get too obscure. Try this one first:

"Summerland in my past
Days were full and I knew it would last
I never thought there was anything else but you"
