THE END IS NEAR!

The bottom line for me is that I will not buy an EV. They are worthless when it comes time to change the batteries, because who can afford that? How are the old batteries being handled in terms of the environment? China supplies much of the raw materials for making the batteries, so we are just enriching our enemy by transitioning to EV's. The last and probably most important reason I will not buy an EV is because I don't like being grabbed by the back of the neck and having my face pushed in to anything. I guess that is the inflexible old fart coming out of me again.

I can't imagine what the
cost of electricity and infrastructure would
be for charging up 4 vehicles overnight to
meet our individual travel plans for the next
day. My last electric bill was almost $300.
Now think about what utility rates would be when they have you by the balls and there is NO other choice...

Just imagine what it will look like when the grid goes down. You may be able to use it to keep things in the house powered for a little while. But how you going to get anywhere.
I can store fuel for the truck. I can't store electricity.

Exactly. We need to just shut up and enjoy our cars while we still can. Pissing and moaning about the direction things are going isn't doing any of us old farts any good other than raising our blood pressure and making us look like ********.
No sir. "Shutting up" is how we find ourselves in this situation today - by sitting idly by, we allow the globalists to run amok
and next thing we know, we're having crap like EV's mandated upon us before the technology can even be perfected enough
to be economically viable.
As of this moment, we're still allowed to voice our opinions in this country - and we're allowed to still vote our preferences
by our checkbooks, which is as it should be - but if we continue to "shut up", that won't be the case much longer.
You wanna roll over? Be my guest.
I'm not wired like that and I'm betting I'm not alone in that.

Mid to late seventies the big three had Japanese made cars with their badges on them.
It didn't really end in the seventies.
This is a rebadged Nissan.

This Mercury Villager was also a Nissan:

Pontiac Sunrunner? Same as a Chevy Tracker...in reality it was a Suzuki.

Remember the Dodge Stealth? Same as the Mitsubishi 3000GT.

That Dart won’t run 9.20s on the street from a red light. An AWD EV car will.
Potententially true.
But the single engine 2wd Dart can go 8.10s on the track.
The AWD multi engine EV car will not.

If you want to go Race car to Race car the Ford Cobra 1400 electric drag car runs 8.10s at 170 MPH with 1 MOTOR.

a 1 off prototype.. lame. The plaid will never go 8.10 because Tesla won't let it.. that's the problem with EVs.. its the speed it is - that's it. If that Dart wanted to the owner could make it a 5 second car..

..and its better for the environment as its man cost has been amortized several times over. Something that the plaid also won't be able to do... chances of seeing plaid's in 55 years is about zilch.

you can also fix just about anything on the dart with a 9/16 wrench, hammer, WD-40 and a pair of screwdrivers. Cant say that about EVs

EV's are even easier to fix, a gallon of gas and a road flare will fix any problem with an EV.

So, I heard on the news today, that Australia will not be giving loans for any ICE vehicles. Talk about having your face shoved in it.
Also, I heard that BMW charges $18 a month for turning on the heated seats on their EVs.
I see the police hitting a switch to shut your car down in the event of a car chase, or just to pull you over.
The finance company shuts your car down for late payments.
The government doesn't like what you are doing, or who you voted for. So they shut it down.
I think they will attach your car electricity to your home. Which way will the monthly electricity bill go?
The cars of the past were sold as an alternative to a larger car. Now, as with Stellantis, no choice.

Big Daddy was having a little problem with his EV Swamprat 38 back in April. Damn, he's 90 yrs old.

Looks like the Safety Team has to reevaluate this if it's going to be a regular occurrence.

Seeing as how I’ve been repairing electric forklifts for 30 years, I can honestly say yes
