So, on todays agenda was “ PUT IN THE 440” !!! It’s hard to believe but it’s been built and bagged up waiting for Two years now…. While we did the metal work, underneath, rear end, and paint under the hood…. It’s a tight fit but she’s in there. We will trim one spot on the K member to make sure we’re good and clear. Tranny and all the top of Motor ignition and cooling next .

And just like that it's in.

Is that an Aspen/Volare wagon? :D My father in law had one with Aspen on one side and Volare on the other lol. And I have a 'fresh' 440 that's been bagged for over 25 years! Actually built it for another vehicle and that vehicle is long gone.

Might want to ask @sixtiesmuscle. It's his pic. Looks like the Plymouth to me.

I used to service the Dodge Assburns back in the day, at a Dodge dealership. I liked them. Most were six cylinders but a few were V8s. Nice handling, nice riding vehicle with very few problems.

Got some work done today on the 64....Wanted to mount the shifter in prep of putting in the tranny, and weld in console brackets.
I got lucky. I didnt think I had it, but as it turns out The little bracket that the shifter sits in WAS in my box of brackets !! Now, I took everyones advice and mounted the brackets to my Console. I used the measurements that Parts stalker provided, (which were Spot On ), and set everything in the car. I got it level, tacked it in place, removed the console and hit some more spots of weld, Painted it, and everything sits great !!
I also took some pictures so everyone can see how the shifter with tabs sits on the center bracket. Like my internet photo shows, it will sit in the slots of that bracket when its bent UP, and also bolt to the top of the console plate with the four screws. The bracket gives it a ton of stability, and allows you to use the shifter to move car around without the console in it.....Maybe these pics will show folks the way it supposed to be mounted....I've seen tons of photos with the bracket just bent down, but I'm quite sure why....The shifter tabs definitely sit right onto this bracket...Also, Worked some on the engine front. Mounted Power steering pump, and installed new high pressure hose. Alt Brackets, Heater hose nipples. Put in Spark Plugs. I'm cleaning all the rest of the water pump stuff before installing...Also have to figure out the pulleys. I have several lower ones and a couple of different water pump ones...

More progress today…. Alternator, pulleys, belts, Fan, Battery tray, splash shield, Route hoses for Power steering, shifter cable & Speedo cable…Only 1 trip to the Parts store for a one size shorter PS Belt.....I had some fire shield, so I used it on my Shifter cable to keep it from getting burned on a manifold. I also clamped it to the bellhousing...I also routed the Power steering hose under the Battery tray...I dont like them being very long behind the pump way up on the inner fender personally.

I bet you are getting more excited every day.
Yes, I am.
I feel great when I work on it everyday, and actually see progress..... I got some real good stuff today from a friend who's fixing a 65 Coronet, and he had some stuff I needed on a parts car, as well as some either NOS or already polished and painted headlight surrounds and front fender "eyebrow" mouldings... I was really happy to get those !!!

I have not worked on mine for a little over a week now. Most likely get some work done tomorrow on it. Was at the SEMA show last week, got in Sunday before and left on Friday. Am getting caught up on homeowner duties from being gone but will be ready to go tomorrow.

More progress on the 64. Radiators in, Horns installed, Guages installed, and lines and wiring done. Reworked the Battery cable Harness etc etc…Also, found an original Mopar plug for the hole where the push button cables were.
