I'm finishing up my garage. Its wired for 2 - 50 amp EV chargers.
Yea, that ain't happening. I would rather have snuck a gasoline holding tank into the ground so I could hoard gas. I'll never own an electric vehicle.Nice, but I don't see a hookup for EV's.

The electrician asked if I wanted the garage setup for EV. I said F NO! If someone I know is dumb enough to buy one and needs a refill, they can go elsewhere. Ain't happening here.

Already in the code for new house builds up here. Mandatory for a charging station line to be run to the garage. That said, I have enough issue with guys leaving chargers on their cars unattended, I sure as hell ain't plugging in a lithium time bomb in the garage and then going to bed.
Installed a 25,600 btu/hr 240v garage heater I found on sale after Thanksgiving. Direct wired in. I'm still waiting on an insulation company for a spray foam quote.

Are you going to install cameras to keep an eye on the surroundings and contents? We have a twelve camera unit on the outside of ours that are hardwired and a pair inside the garage that are blue tooth.
Probably not. We are far enough out and have farmland behind us. And our limited neighbors are very nosy lol.

Sounds good.
Got the rafters set today. 16" on center. Got one facia board nailed in then I called it quits. 7/16 osb is going on top, maybe tomorrow.

Nice. Time to blow the froth off of one.
That space is 14 foot wide. Where the couch is setting will be my wife's workout equipment. She has a 14x20 foot chunk for her stuff. Couch is going by the door and a TV and beer fridge going next to it.
Got some shelves put up. I'm going to need more.
Never enough shelves!

Wanted to build an extra storage bldg. but I just got a letter from the township and they said if you put up a building or even a shed they are going to re-apprize your house! I don't know if this **** is even legal. Don't even think I don't even think I can put a storage container in. Any lawyers on here. Any thoughts at all?

Looks great but who in the world talked you in to pouring 5 1/2” of concrete with rebar. Complete total overkill. We’ve only poured shops for heavy equipment and semi-truck repair like that lol. We poured my dads shop 30 years ago 3.5” and we used cattle panels and 4500# concrete. Zero cracks and issues and he has his 45,000# dump trucks on it all the time through the years. I poured mine the same way except where my 2 post lift is at. I poured it around 8” with rebar. Didn’t mean to get it that deep but that’s how my dad dug it lol.
Lol. I came up with that plan myself. I figured the tied rebar would more than make up for deficiencies in my concrete pouring work. Hopefully it holds up! Haha!

For sure latch onto more shelving. One thing I've done for much of my stuff is put them on wheels. Having the equipment, tools, bolt bin etc on wheels makes it nice.

I’m house hunting at the moment and looking to try to drop a 30x50 or so on the property (unless it already has something close) so your thread is very helpful!
I’m curious, how did you attach the ledger board of the ‘deck’ to the outside wall of the building? I’m looking at the picture on a phone so maybe it’s more obvious on a computer screen. Did you just lag it to the upright structure beams or is there more blocking behind that?
