So.. what do you "upside-downers" call it ? The "south star" ?? Do you have to stand on your head in order to see it ?What do you think the people on the other side of the Galaxy call the North Star?
A star.![]()
What's this chit-chat about roads ? You need a map ? Here : View attachment 1514103

Some constellations and stars are visible from both the northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere. But a lot of stars that are visible from the northern hemisphere are not visible in the southern hemisphere and vise versa.So.. what do you "upside-downers" call it ? The "south star" ?? When I approached your planet from my trip from Kronos, Earth was sideways. So, who's to say what's "up" or "down" ??Some constellations and stars are visible from both the northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere. But a lot of stars that are visible from the northern hemisphere are not visible in the southern hemisphere and vise versa.

You bring up a point that I often wonder about. With all the talk of aliens I never hear anyone approach the subject of why aliens all seem to have the same basic body plan as we do, a torso in the middle head on top two legs on the bottom and an arm on each side. Are we all somehow related or is that just how we perceive them? Why do we view the earth as View attachment 1513806 ? Why don't we view the earth as View attachment 1513807 ? Who says the arctic has to be at the top, while the antarctic is at the bottom ? We sometimes refer to those in the southern hemisphere as "down-under", but why aren't we in the northern hemisphere the ones down-under ? If aliens approached our planet from space, would they cruise in viewing the earth as in image #1 ? Or, would we tell them, "Hey, you're coming in upside-down ! " And while we're at it, why are heads always at the top of the body ? Maybe those aliens would have heads right above their legs, and their stomach, heart, and all the other guts would be at the top of their body.
We were on the fantail! What is it about this thread? More Stoner references... Back in my Navy days while stationed on a boat in Guam there was a group who referred to themselves as the PF Flyers... They would always go to a spot Port Forward to spark their doobage....
Here here! It's just a name. Why couldn't "north" mean the bottom of the globe ? Even if we looked at it upside-down, we could still call ourselves "northerners". But, that's if you actually thought it was upside-down. When upside-down could really be right-side up. Oh.. pass me another beer while you think that over ..![]()
Good point. What the hell ARE we talking about? This thread is funny! Space, shoes and reefer all rolled into one.![]()
