I've been hearing they're financially strained. Recently had a huge layoff of white collar employees etc. Now they are cutting out their exhibits at the auto shows.

Other than rebadged Alfa and Peugeot cars what do they have to show?

I haven't been to the Chicago auto show in a while but used to go fairly regularly. The Jeep ride was a lot of fun, going over a test track with a lot of obstacles and then up a very steep ramp, then head down the decline of that ramp feeling like you were going straight down, which demonstrated some sort of automatic braking system.
I like checking out the new Rams.
Those are their profitable lines. I am not a marketing guy and have no idea if their investment in displaying at these shows has been shown to drive enough subsequent sales to justify the investment.

Rams and most of the Jeeps.
More like just Jeeps. Friggin 1500 Rams starting in 2025 will have I-6 twin turbos instead of Hemis.

I think they are embarassed and don't want to show their face in public. 50 years ago. could you imagine a world where Chrysler Corporation would wither and die on the vine, while Alfa Romero and Peugot would survive? WTF Happened?

Yup. Corporate greed and mismanagement.

3/4 tons are still 6.4 hemi and Cummins so there is that.
But I wouldn't argue with anyone saying the good times for Ram are rapidly fading into the sunset.
The auto market in general and the big 3 are all facing big challenges being pushed into developing and selling EV vehicles most consumers do not, and likely never will, want.
I wouldn't be surprised if all of them end up bankrupt in the not too distant future. Though I expect Stellantis will be the first to fall.
I work for a heavy truck OEM and not involved in any EV projects yet. I've thought it ridiculous trying to make trucks EV for most vocations, because there is no way they can be practical.
My boss was at an industry event of some sort recently, and he told me that he tends to agree with my opinions, but that until he attended the seminar, he didn't realize the extent that the industry is being forced into EV by government.
It's a fiasco, but when you start finger pointing, rather than point at the OEMs for the inevitable mess that is coming, you might want to point your finger at the voters who voted for those who enact policies based entirely on wishful thinking instead.

Difficult & mandatory govt. EV push
is harboring a bunch of the automakers
then now all the UAW strikes & now the results of it
thousands of layoffs, & more still to come

the bean counters run the business now
(Stellantis-aka Peugot freaken' French)

Corp. needs to make profit for shareholders, or they will bail too...

Do they even know their demographics, actual buyers ?
doesn't seem like they do...

Weak lineup, other than Ram (good sellers or were) & Jeep,
Jeep is strong
albeit lots of layoffs now Engine plant (the UAW's greed)
Dodge now no Challenger, it was a big seller
a last attempt pathetic Charger offering, EVs BS
the demise of the Hemi will be/have ramifications :blah:
to their bottom line too

The new Midsize *Ram 1200/Dakota Rebel (*like Latin market)
or will it be a Rampage (?) in (2024 ?) 2026 maybe, may be too late...

I agree. Who is going to an auto show to see an electric Dodge Charger??

If they make it to 2026, small truck will likely be like old Rampage. Front wheel drive like Ford Maverick. Always playing Catch-up. No longer leading the industry.

This ^^^ .... who's going to go to an auto show to see Electroshitmobiles ?

They're going to try to figure out how to reduce their two year inventory of Ram 2500 trucks instead of going to car shows.

Nobody wants to look at an electric vehicle. If they did just go to an appliance store and check out the vacuum cleaners basically the same thing and they both suck. Makes good business sense since it was forced upon them.

You actually believe that people VOTED for this or the clowns trying to ram it down our throats? Man do i have a Florida real estate deal for you...
[OK mods - I'll shut up now - dont want to get another thread deleted...]

Where I unfortunately live, 90% of the people vote for this, and are proud to brag about it.
Then they scream about our through the roof property taxes, and when violent criminals make their way out of the city to carjack them and do other violent crimes.
They‘ll scream too someday when their mandated electrical heating system can’t keep their big house above 60 degrees on frigid winter nights or they get stranded in the middle of no where with a discharged EV suv and no place to plug it in, and about brownouts from an overloaded grid.
And despite their degrees from prestigious universities, multi 6 figure positions and McMansions, they still seem to have no clue to the connection and get irate about any of who they consider mouth breathers (or deplorables or bitter clingers etc) who dare not vote in lockstep with them.
It’s different in much of Florida and some other places, I know, but sadly very large numbers of Americans in many areas of the country are no different than the intellectual legends in their own minds I’m surrounded by.
And corporations like the big 3 have little choice but to comply with what they get thrown at them or get canceled no matter how bad we think their compliance is. That’s the point I was making about thinking twice about pointing fingers at them as to who to blame.
