Hello,

I have a 67 Satellite that is 3200 ish #. I want to get a set of drag slicks for it.

Should I run a soft sidewall tire or something firmer?

I am also running Caltracs on stock springs

Cal tracks with stock springs wont be the best. The weaker the spring, the better. What shocks? What power level? Gear? Converter?
Doug

9 way adjustable Caltrac shocks on the back Caltrack 90/10 front. 600hp motor. 9” rear with 3:20 gears and 3K stall

Very liitle gear or converter. Drag radials will be the quickest. Should hook easily.
Doug

I agree the radials will be the quickest, but a bias will be more forgiving at a marginal track.
Is this a street car?

With the parts listed hooking a radial shouldn't be an issue.

We're lacking some info.. I had a 600hp 383 that didn't make any torque till 5500 rpm.. with the 3500 stall in it I could have run 225/70/14 Sears 4 ply belted radials...

I run a 3500lb Charger. 28x10.5 on a 15. Caltracs system. 2500 stall Footbrake. Estimated 375hp. 3.91 gearing. Reverse manual valvebody. Hoosier for my door car only. I ran a DR2 dot for a while and liked it a lot but felt its durability was really poor (I’m very hard on it in the burnout.)

Only reminder is if you’re going to a slick, it needs a driveshaft loop.

do you have calvert's leaf spring sliders ? your car looks just like the one in their catalog ...

i ask b/c i'm currently installing full calvert set up. mono split springs / sliders / caltrac and their shocks. wondering if you love it ?

Wow! I had to go check as I didn’t know they used my car. It is mine indeed! Gonna have to get a copy of that magazine.

Do not. I have shocks front and back, mono split with the drag race Caltracs setup. To be honest, I don’t think I’ll ever NOT buy Caltracs. They are the best money you can put on the car. Dad’s old Dart was the same way. I also went with their tie down strap bracket. Highly recommend it.

That's pretty cool - you're famous !
demand royalties ! haha
you can request free catalog on their website, you're right smack in the middle.
on my 1969 charger, i'm fabing up some rear mounts for their sliders that will be tied to the frame.
thanks for the feed back. now i'm more excited !

i was going to use their MX series Caltracs , but i talked myself out of it.

Have to agree on the caltrac being the best improvement for our rear suspensions

Very nice! I believe the MX series was not around when I bought mine. When my Charger gets the 440 from my dragster, I was pondering adding it.

We ran a 600hp 69 Dart Swinger with the drag setup and it was the best money we spent on the car. The car was overpowered and would hop off the line. We tried a lot before putting The Caltracs setup on and it was a total game changer. It’s what influenced the Charger purchase. I would buy it, no hesitation and reep the benefits.

600 hp in a light car and no ladders or 4 link?

I've been thinking about installing on my car. Do they also work well on the street?
It is stiffer and you will feel bumps but I’d drive mine almost thousand miles a year stop and go/highway mix to the track and had no issues. Only thing I’d do is put hoses on your U-bolt threads so if you ever need to break them loose, the **** from the streets doesn’t crude up the threads.
