I have a 67 Coronet with a 383 and 4 speed. When I bought it the stick comes out of the floor and is positioned beside the drivers seat. I know it belongs forward of that. Whoever built it hacked a hole in the floor to bring it through.
Can someone tell me if it is possible to change the linkage and put it in the right postion or do I need to change the tranny.
See the video of the current numbers off the tranny!

Your trans could have 2 shifter mounts cast into the tail housing. This was for 1970 and newer B E amd truck van. B body uses the front and others us the rear.

So go under the car sand see if there is a forward mount right behind the main case. Triangle shaped with 3 threaded holes.

Forge numbers in the tran is 99129 H

That's the main case casting number. It's shared between a,b,c body 4 speed transmissions. The tailshaft casting would tell us what you have if you can post the number.

Here's a useful reference to figure out what you have.

So here are the numbers off of the Transmission and the location of the shifter. I was hoping to move the shifter to the correct location on the hump and install a stock console in the future... Any idea's men? Can use what I have and change the linkage by any chance?
Thank you everyone!

c-99539 is a b/e body tailshaft number so you have the correct transmission. It looks like they mounted the shifter on the e body boss instead of the b body boss where it belongs. You would need to buy a 66-70 b body tunnel hump and then move the shifter up to the correct boss. You'll need new shift rods. The pistol grip will probably be hard to reach once it's in the correct spot. Pistol grip is probaby for an e body car but you can get one for a b body.
