Pulled the yoke off to replace the seal, whoever installed the seal needed more training or maybe it was late on a Friday, I forgot to take a pic but it was not driven in all the way and it was crooked. Never the less it wasnt leaking.

I was surprised to see that it was the original 58 year old seal in there! Mopar p/n 2404135.

Was axin because I saw the 'cut' on the nose of the pinion shaft.....Did you have to cut the nut off??

I'll do that!Put a little Teflon paste on the splines before slipping the yoke on. Keeps the oil from weeping past.
I always used a bit of red Loc-tite on the threads and never had a problem with leakage or the nut coming loose....but for a friend that used to drill the nut and shaft for a roll pin, I used a 'lot' of Loc-tite for a 3rd member for him to prove to him what he was doing was needless LOL! Don't go nuts with the red....just need a dab or two. I went with 6 dabs or so with the 3rd member that I gave to himPut a little Teflon paste on the splines before slipping the yoke on.
