I've read through other posts, especially this one: 4-Post Lift Recommendation
Those were very helpful in regards to four post lifts.

Besides choosing a company, the next issue is getting it delivered and installed.
I've seen some people mention companies will ship it to a depot, and you can pick it up from there.

Does anyone know companies who can assist with that pickup/help with the actual installation in the garage?

I went with wildfire for my 4 post and rotary for my 2 post. I had picked up my rotary from the dealer and 4 post delivered to my work and i delivered them myself on my car trailer. Yes many company’s will deliver and install. First figure what brand you want then ask the question I installed with wife and kids.

Wildfire has a installation service. When it was quoted to me it was $850 plus time and travel.

If you have a motor lift (cherry picker) and three helpers a wildfire goes together easily with a few hours.

I was going to install mine myself. Our local lift company kind of gets you by the balls. If I installed it, it would only have a 30 day structural warranty. No installation/parts warranty. At the time when I purchased mine it was $650.00 delivered and installed. If they installed it, it came with a 1 year parts and installation, and a 2 year structural warranty. So, I paid the extra to have them install it. It's been about 5 years now. I am happy with mine with the exception that I need much more room for one.

I have both an Advantage and a Wildfire 4 post lift. Picked both of them up at the nearest freight depot with a U-Haul rental car trailer. I assembled both by myself with the use of my engine hoist, rigging and blocking.

I’m sure they are out there. In Southern NJ I used SAR Equipment Co. I just bought another used Rotary 4 post. They are going to the seller to disassemble, transporting it some 30 miles to me and putting it back together in my garage.

When I wanted to reassemble my BP unit, I was quoted almost $2k to put it together. I paid $500 the first time when I bought it. I'm not about to pay for someone's beach vacation as the companies were both in the valley on that 2k. I ended up doing it myself. A friend helped me get the pieces out of the trailer. We set the ramps on moving dollies. From there, it was me with a floor jack and grunt power.

I went and picked mine up with my car trailer, forklift loaded. Unloaded and assembled by myself using my engine hoist. Easy peasy.

I Googled the one that I wanted and believe or not I was able to get it from Lowes. It came in and I had them load it on my trailer. I’ll check but I’m not sure if they charged me any freight charges.

Along with the jaw dropping price I got for putting it together in the new garage, one of my Saturday compadres pointed out "it's just nuts, bolts and a few heavy pieces". Not anymore complicated than doing an engine. Just read the manual and go for it. Or have a company do it for you.

Like others are saying, you can do it with the help of a friend or two. Just watch the assembly videos and you'll do fine.
I chose an Advantage 11,000 lbs lift over Wildfire just because of a package deal they offered and they had a warehouse about 2 hours away. They loaded on my car trailer and a few hours later it was together.

I installed magnetic LED light strips on to my lift also. Don't ever need a drop light. I also fabbed up some brackets to mount a winch for when I have to winch up non-running vehicles up the driveway incline and up onto the hoist.

Like that winch idea. One thing, is your lift bolted down or do you have to tie it to the building to use the winch. Mine isn't bolted down so I would have to tie the lift to the building. Maybe I just need to mount the winch to the building.

Mine is anchored down.

OK, I have wheels for mine so I can move it around. Will look under my work bench to see about winch location. Thanks
