I have been running the Polara Bear around on these hot days. Just idling around town doing errands it wants to run 195 to 200. I have an axillary fan set up and that brings it down to a bit over 180. I will be adding AC this winter so am thinking I need to get to a bigger Aluminum DeWitt's or some such. I supposedly have a heavier duty stock radiator but thinking it won't cut it with the AC added. 505 CI Krate engine from Muscle Motors. How are you guys cooling your hot rides? Thanks, Marcus

Thanks for the info..... I will do the research on both Glen Ray and Wizard...... I don't like sitting in traffic watching the temp gauge creeping up.... big cooling is available just got to figure what meets my needs..... and I have needs.....

The original owner said he put a bigger stock radiator in it but I can't find a part # on it. On top is say AB and that is the only thing I can see. Any ideas on that?

Just a note on GLEN-RAY.. non a/c 383 rad (22"?) converted to massive 4 core..... cools my HEMI just fine!

If your getting hot while idling you may try a little initial timing. Way cheaper than a new radiator.

The car sounds like a hot rod, not a restoration... so I don't see why you'd go Gen Ray. Just buy a generic giant aluminum radiator, fab some mounts and use your saving fro something else. Aluminum radiator options are practically endless.

Glen Ray upgrades the stock ones and makes them look like they belong... be upfront with your driveline package when contacting the vendor...just cover your bases.

I have heard nothing but good about Glen Ray but you will pay big money for his stuff.
He's not cheap, but not out of line with the current market for many of us. Compared costs with a fellow FBBO member who recently had his radiator re-cored by Glen Ray, no local shops available. I had my original done locally, at the last shop in my area that still does this work. We both paid exactly the same, and got good results. When I had the original in Baby Blue done by another local shop that's now closed, the price was $500 cheaper. That was 12 years ago.

If the car doesn't have a fan shroud, add one - that's worked wonders for me.
You can also speed up the fan with a smaller diameter water pump pulley.
Air hitting the rad support area should ideally be directed solely to the radiator.
I personally dislike add-on fans in front of the radiator, as IMO they block airflow, but some guys are fine with them.

Using a 28" big block Cordoba high efficiency copper/brass radiator, shroud, flex fan, (horsepower eater, but it moves air), trans cooler inside the shroud, and a 10" electric pusher as a supplement, to cool between rounds, ..... or on a typical hot Arizona desert day.
If I was gonna do it again.... a two 1 1/2" row aluminum radiator from a dually pickup, as wide as will fit between the frame rails, a shroud, and a clutch fan.

Thanks for the info..... I will do the research on both Glen Ray and Wizard......
Either is a great choice whether you want the OEM look, or not. Recently, my only satisfactory results were with either, and the wizard fits perfectly along with the factory shroud on it.
