So lame that the manufacturer tried to gaslight you regarding the "paint flashing". Sorry to hear about these big deal-breaker issues, and it's laughable that you need 'software updates' to fix stuff. The issue with the seat retraction is also a major safety issue worthy of (another) recall.

What's really interesting is that all those problems have nothing to do with it being an EV. The same issues could have been in the six cylinder version.

Technology has advanced to the point of uselessness. Cars are supposed to get you to work and the Piggly Wiggly, not Mars. The new car that I would buy doesn't exist. You can thank your legislators for that.

Most new stuff is like that.
Case in point-
My elderly neighbor's Toyota had the battery die while sitting in the garage.
Well, so let's jump it I said. I don't think so Tim...without power we could not release the parking brake or put the car in neutral to roll the car out so that my supermega high-quality jumper cables could reach.
I did end up removing the battery from my truck to bring it close and we got him going, but the point is....all this electric-only crap is potentially a major safety problem IMO. But folks keep dropping 50+K (or taking on huge payments) for 'em yeeyee! It's good to be a new-car dealer!

This car of ours....

....puked a trunk latch within the first year. You can fold down the seat and crawl through to access the pull cable on the underside of the trunk lid but it isn't very convenient. The key FOB has a trunk button that was unresponsive, the dash has a trunk button that was equally dead. I bought a new latch assembly for something like $50 because to wait for warranty service, it would have been two weeks. I swapped it out myself after buying the latch from a different dealer than we usually dealt with.
Cars should have a mechanical override for these systems.
