My neighbor has a big bush (and trees)

Actually, both neighbors have trees and shrubs….

I have no neighbor to the back line, a main road is back there.
These people have trees within 4 feet of the property lines and of course, they seem to do no maintenance…

I’ve had to do tree trimming on their trees since the branches overhang on my side.
I’m starting to think that they let the trees grow to hide me from view.
Look at the last picture to see how far the trees hang over the fence line.
Who else has neighbors that do not take care of their landscaping?

Get a pole saw and trim that property line straight.

That isn’t right, just did some chain sawing at my daughter’s house to get rid of overhanging branches over the neighbor’s driveway. They didn’t request it; I could see a problem only getting worse. And besides, it looked crappy. Offhand, I would think the insurance company, yours, might seek to recoup the costs of damage to your property, like to one of your vehicles, should a tree fall down or some big branches fall during a storm.

Oklahoma and other states regard the limbs on neighboring trees the responsibility of the homeowner whose property the limbs overhang.

I figured something like that. Thank you.
I sure don’t want to kill a tree. For a car guy, I really respect nature and hate to see dead grass or fallen trees.
I like the shade. I like the buffer between the neighbors. The lady on one side didn’t like seeing the cars out back so she had fast growing shrubs planted to block her view. I didn’t mind that except that it caused maintenance for me on my side since she planted right at the fence line.
Maybe I should just accept it since nobody has turned me in to the cops for all the car stuff I’ve done here. I’ve read how some neighbors complain about the car guy down the street. That guy gets visits from
The cops for changing spark plugs in his drive way.

You really can’t blame them, if they don’t want to look at your car stuff. I would just call it a nice compromise and move on.

My neighbors on both sides have annoying trees. On the one side it's a fir tree that just leaks sap on my cars. The other side the guy is a hermit and his fir tree, half came down in an ice storm 2024. I paid my friend to clean up the mess. My ladies garden is under there somewhere lol. Neither neighbor maintains the trees at all to be expected around here.

neighbor behind me asked if he could paint his side of my fence white...... no problem, I can't see it

The easement next to me the lil' local water district owns it
they let me trim the trees if necessary or call an arborist

you can see the stump on the ground, by the awning pole
notice the nice 3 bucks cruising thru too, eating acorns & leaves

no need to make more enemies, my next-door neighbor up the hill Mike,
former Cal. state forestry big wig/retired
loves that lil' easement, they have him take care of the property at no charge
he's constantly out there doing something
he rototills it & rakes & burns the leaves regularly
keeps it up nicely
like clock work, but he won't trim the damn trees, sort of a naturalist
but nice enough neighbor

I went over his authority this time, & I called the water board directly
they said sure do what you want with that tree, so down it went
cut up & gave the Oak, firewood 2' rounds (a cords worth) to my other neighbor,
below me Darren retired Ca. Fish & Game Capt.

Tom, he sort of got pissed, that I had a tree taken out
that was leaning over my property, but he got over it...

Man, I cringe each time a tree falls around here. I love the shade, I love the look of them. We go through years of drought then heavy rains. The thirsty trees sometimes soak up too much and then topple when the weakened limbs can't hold the weight.
