Sundays......

Great point. I bought a sleep number mattress a few years ago and haven't looked back. Well worth the coin.
Tried a sleep number mattress several years ago....just couldn't find the right number! Soon after that, I bought a memory foam mattress and still have it over 10 years later. Best to ever happen for me!
I cannot function without a shower......... and I never stink :bananadance:
My wife never stanks either and she never takes a morning shower and neither do I.....especially so in the winter time. Just don't feel right to take a shower and then go to work and sure don't need one to wake up. Maybe the difference is the coffee? Don't drink that either

Thought I had clicked on this post but looks like I didn't....I'm one to use something until it's not longer usable too. But this one looks beyond it's life usability LOL. I'm thinking it wasn't rolling too good anymore plus wasn't all that comfy to sit on!!?

I assume the Smithsonian will come looking for it some day.........kinda like Archie Bunker's chair.....they can pay for it

I don't ever remember mocking up the grille and bezels...... so I thought this might be a good time; this was a good place to start today

they sat there pretty much perfect with no hardware, and a few pieces of tape...... because, you know, gravity

this is a very uplifting photo :bananaweed: ........ I figure 1989 was the last time for this configuration

I bought these door skins in 2014...... pass side came with a remote mirror hole. I think I had the same issue with Hawk's car in that same timeframe.

Anyway; I didn't get to it last week, so.....

I dialed in the fit at the front fenders/hood.....they always seem to be a little weird

Nice work so far...and it looks to be coming together fast now.

a little about the car, I kinda forgot......... pretty nicely optioned 440 auto, console, disc brakes, light package, clock, green glass, headrests, GG1 with black vinyl top.

trunk pan and dutchman are original...... both need a little work, but pretty decent.....I did put a full floor in it...... quarter skins, drops, and outer wheelhouses were done 25 years ago........

it's been on the rotisserie twice, and hung from a tree.......so round 4 is coming :BangHead:

fenders and hood are very nice originals........ roof is immaculate

I put frame connectors in it with the floor........it's a non numbers car, so I don't care about stock....... it's a day 2 build all the way, doesn't need to be the fastest, just clean and a little obnoxious :steering:

I don't remember if those cool, bullet style, fender mounted blinkers are standard GTX trim ....... but I forgot to mention them. I love those things!

When I hear some fleeb say that their car is All metal, man...NO filler I want to smack them around a bit. They remind me of the same type of dudes that claim to never wash their cars with water....they only wipe the dust off.
Yeah, to the FIRST guy, it takes a monumental effort to get metal to look good enough for paint without some filler and high build primer. Those that choose to work the metal to absolute perfection make me think of those dudes that build model ships inside a bottle. WHY make things hard on yourself?
Now regarding the SECOND guy, if he is telling the truth, I doubt the dude really drives the car much. You'll always be at risk of getting the car dirty if you drive it on a public road. Birds will crap on it, a sprinkler system may come on if you're parked next to them. These cars are not made out of sugar. They don't dissolve if you get them wet.

Back when I was doing cars like this, those guys that said they didn't want filler on their metal, I'd send them on down the road. These cars had filler in them from the factory, even at a time when lead work was still common.
I was doing this 30 years ago, so all of the materials have progressed to be much better quality now, as long as you are willing to pay for said quality.
A lot of 'car guys' have never actually done anything to a car, so out of ignorance, they flap their gums.

Dumb question Mark. Will you be taking the front fenders down to bare metal before you primer?

I'm useless without a little filler.......

but really good with it :icon_fU:
When I bought the Demonstrator, I went over it for nearly an hour with my kitchen magnet. The seller was a bit paranoid, immediately said it has some filler, not trying to hide anything. I told him we were good, with my history with the car, I knew where it should be. There were no surprises. Paint that smooth doesn't happen without some tweaking underneath. I was also aware of a door ding and hood dent that Julie Clark sustained when the GTX was her family car.

You've seen mine in person. It has filler, and it gets wet. It didn't melt after the Carlisle downpour.

no way....... I slaved on those fenders 20 years ago, I'm the one who painted them green. I was playing with, and pondering single stage.

there is big difference between packing holes with filler, or the old "cave and pave"........... and the artistic use of a skim coat :blah::blah::blah:

sometimes I think it's a shame to bury my filler work under paint and primer...... most guys filler work look like sh#t
