Hayden short vs long fan clutch

With the fan clutch being the only variable, is there any change in cooling using the short vs longer fan clutch by Hayden?

Part numbers are 2947 for the short one and 2747 for the longer one.

That would depend on where the fan winds up. Half way into the shroud works well.Too far in is no good.

I realize there needs to be space in front for the engine to move but would there be a higher temperature being too close to the radiator?

Short is for the stock a-body, I know that.
If a b-body has a radiator that is closer than stock maybe the short is a better option.

No difference based upon the fan clutch alone….ASSUMING….the radiator to fan distance was the same because of different radiator distance from water pump
