No Black Bear Diners, no Cracker Barrels, no Waffle House and no Bobby E's in IL. Gawd I hate this state.I like them better than Cracker Barrel. They haven’t got this far east yet. But we still have the Waffle House.
When I worked in the Chicago area, I was fortunate to be able to access Waffle House when I visited our southern terminals. When I moved back east, there were enough old school mom and pop diners still in operation to keep me going. No Black Bear Diners, no Cracker Barrels, no Waffle House and no Bobby E's in IL. 4/5, I do mine in the microwave, and cook it in multiple short intervals to get it right.
I totally agree, but my wife has zero tolerance for the residue. The microwave process is the only way she will allow bacon in the house. After 48 years of marriage, and seven GTXs, I've learned to pick my battles carefully.I used to micowave mine, but switched to cooking it in the oven several years ago. Once you oven cook you'll never go back.

I use three sheets, then let the cats lick the residue off the plate. They cry their heads off while it's cooking.LOL, I got residual when I microwaved and used a half roll of paper towels to try and contain it to boot.
MMMMMM love eating eggs that way. Though my gf rarely makes it cuz it gives me the farts somethin fierce!! LOL4 for me. My wife likes it closer to burnt so 5 or 6. I pan fry it and then fry eggs sunny side up in the bacon grease. Yum! We have that for breakfast most Sundays.
Please...nobody ask this guy how he likes his coffee.I like my bacon like I like my women, not to stiff and not to loose.
So I guess that make me a 3-4 kind of guy.
