Limp or Hard?

Thick cut: 5 all day
Thin stuff: 4, maybe 4.5 with any super fatty parts probably being shared with my pets :)

I don't like bacon to crumble, but I don't want to chew it like gum either. It should have a nice bite and some remaining integrity no matter how thick it is cut, but with thicker cuts closer to the edge of "breaking" vs bending.

I like them better than Cracker Barrel. They haven’t got this far east yet. But we still have the Waffle House.
No Black Bear Diners, no Cracker Barrels, no Waffle House and no Bobby E's in IL. Gawd I hate this state. :cursin:

My favorite is 3,4,5 and 6. Second would be 2.

When I worked in the Chicago area, I was fortunate to be able to access Waffle House when I visited our southern terminals. When I moved back east, there were enough old school mom and pop diners still in operation to keep me going.

4.5 if frying to eat then. Oven frying 5/6, I use a large pan lined with HD foil. 405 degrees for 13 and a half minutes take them out, flip them another 9 mins but watch them at 8 mins could run 9.5 mins. Put on paper towel. They'll crumble into pieces, I store whole in a plastic bag, break them and drop an egg on them.
