4 Post Lift Installation Recommendations

Most lifts come with a jack tray. So you can use a bottle jack to jack up the one end of the carlike the front end. But if your planning to do so work the requires the the car to be supported by jack stands, like front suspension rebuild. You can do it but you have position the car perfectly on the run way to fit the jack stands under the frame rails or make something that would span the runways and provide support for the jack stand.
A rolling bridge jack will roll into position and you lift the car from where you put the jack stands. Lift the car then lower it down into the locking position.

That looks more handy than a pocket on a T-shirt. I think I’ll ask about one?

BENDPAK HD-9 Parking 4 Post Car Lift 9000 lb Capacity - Freestanding Design with Adjustable Runways and 220V Power Unit Included 5175861 - The Home Depot

Not saying BendPack is better or worse but it's a known brand... Home Depot delivers for free, including Hawaii... 6K for a 9000 lb four post, I've seen lower prices but Home Depot is a known quantity.... You know what to expect...
Thanks for that. Free delivery is always nice, but I need installation too. Plus I don’t have a forklift handy to get it off the delivery vehicle. And 220v power supply is a deal breaker. I know the backyard buddy is supposed to be superior, but it had better be far superior for its $2500 price difference.

I wish but when you go online and put in a Hawaii zip code it says delivery unavailable, and pickup at the store is unavailable. I even went to customer service desk, and tried they won't order it.

Well that sucks... I wonder if Costco sells lifts? Cause in my experience they are great if your in Hawaii...

Also 220 volt motor will only give you faster lift times. Important in commercial shops, at home for hobby use, I can wait the extra 30-45 seconds to lift the car.

Alot of stuff Costco sells in the mainland we can't get here. It's not so much if the can ship it, cause they can. It comes down to how many can they sell. If the volume of sales is not enough to make it worth while they won't do it. They can fill a shipping container full of TV's and sell them all in month, if they fill a shipping container of 4 post lifts, how long is it going to take them to sell them.

I checked forklift rental prices. It’s $1000. So Home Depot would be around $7k, backyard buddy $10k. Buddy includes install. I’ll keep that in mind when the backyard buddy sales rep comes Monday to check it out. I will ask why I shouldn’t just go with Home Depot. Get him to throw in a few extras like the rolling jack tray. If not maybe go with Home Depot. I’m sure I can do install, but I’d rather have a professional install. This is something that could seriously injure life and property if not done correctly. Plus I’m not sure about voiding the 5 year warranty.

One regret I have is not spending the money at the time of purchase for the trolley jack. The price of the jack has increased and the shipping costs have doubled in the past 5 years.

That's a good price from HD for a lift. $5650. I bet they would install it for you too, for a price. I would ask them because they offer installation on pretty much everything. Same price here for a forklift $339/day. I'd round up a couple of buddies that are mechanically inclined and get some beer and burgers and have a lift installation party. Hell if I were closer I'd come help. Did mine all by myself using my engine crane to unload it from my trailer.
