So I know there are some obvious incorrect things on this car, but it appears to have been put together well. I am looking for a Bee, and honestly, fit, finish, and quality of the work is more important than the correct color, or the other little things that aren’t right on this car. Has anyone seen this one in person? Opinions? I would rather buy from a private party, but I have been looking for a while. Picking are either slim or kinda junky…

Color matched front and rear bumpers? Looks goofy.
I agree....and why would someone do that to a car like that one? I did a 67 Dart in the mid 70's mainly because they had surface rust and needed some straightening too. Imo, it looked a whole bunch better!

I may be wrong, but I have a hard time believing it's a matching numbers engine for that price. I'd inquire.

And, it was originally dark metallic tan, not red.

Yeah, there was no mention of matching numbers in the listing, so I assume it isn’t. Wrong color, the bumpers, and the inner door panels appear to be painted matte black rather than gloss. Those are the things that stood out to me…

Does buying a car with a badly remade fender tag scare you off?

100%- which is why I posted this thread… I am certainly not a fender tag expert. But I certainly would question why they would remake a fender tag and use dark metallic tan as the color.

Au contraire, and this is purely subjective, but I love the body color bumpers on the 70 coronet/bee !! I think it gives the model an awesome, sleek look as opposed to the chrome.

Well, if Doug says this is a badly remade fender tag, then 100% guaranteed it is a badly remade tag....

The car could have been dark tan when the tag was made and then repainted.

The fender and VIN tags could have been moved from a tan car to an orange car.

There are several possibilities. None of which make the tag legit.

Never thought of that… dastardly!

I can’t see anything on the website. I turned off my Adblock and still nothing.
For as much money as it takes to restore these cars you would think they would have sprung for re-chromed bumpers... This looks like crap.

The painted front bumper somewhat masks the hideousness of the front end.

grill is not painted correct, inside doors around door panel should be exterior color. Dash grain color is wrong should be the darker color. And why paint the bumpers. I will stop there at that price.
