Original Cast Dual Point Distributor or Reproduction?

Hello,

Any opinions on if I should buy and restore an original cast dual point distributor or get a reproduction that looks original? Does anybody make a kit to modernize the cast distributor?

My goal is to keep my car original but if reproduction parts that look original are needed then that is ok.

Does modernize mean second rate shines e parts?

I like the originals with points as designed, as they are a very high quality distributor.

To give some background I have a 1970 RR with a 440+6. Originally it was a 383. Otherwise originally the car had a 4-speed, front split bench, air grabber hood, etc. I want to make the car as original as possible and plan to drive the car. I am looking to keep the car for my family and am not interested in selling.

You are correct. I meant an aluminum reproduction that looks like the original.

Just saw the tag. Lots of ways to say modernize. Yours should be a Prestolite cast iron dual point, not the one in the add, that one is super rare. I sent you my # way easier to talk if you want.
