My stock 383 70 Roadrunner needs a camshaft replaced. Looking for a little more cam just being I have to replace it. Just looking to what would be a good fit as I will probably never put headers/heads etc. on it.
Thanks for any help.

Do you have a list of parts you’re planning to upgrade at the same time as the cam?

If it’s only the cam, the safe bet is a replacement cam, or the smaller Summit cam.

For something that will fit that’s slightly hotter, the Comp 268H.

Call Bob K for a cam , Mr Six Pack is a really super great guy and has outstanding service and products. He learned from The Godfather of the Hemi, Tom Hoover. His six pack bee is quick!

Any cam upgrade will need springs changed. Stock springs won't handle much lift. If your not up to spring changing try to stay with .460" maximun lift at the valve. Truth is if you not going to upgrade anything else a stock magnum cam or the mopar 272/.455 aren't bad choices. I did the small summit cam in a 383 once; nice smooth driver, identical to magnum cam other than lobe seperation.

Thanks for information. I'm am willing to change springs anything on the top of the engine. I realize if I'm leaving the stock manifolds and running a 650 carb there is only so much you can do to help. More of a car my father owned and with a/c so hoping to run stock radiator. I have other cars after this hoping for more performance.
