Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct area to ask this question, but couldnt find a more appropriate place. I have a question about using the wanted to buy section. I posted a wanted ad looking for a 68 satellite 4dr over a week ago. I was reading the rules and it said no "bumping" is allowed,no posting the same ad for a week. Does that mean I have to post the same ad and pictures after a week,or would replying to the ad saying "still looking" aftet a week has passed be a policy violation? To me it would make more sense to "bump" the ad so people aren't creating the same one once every week, but I wanted to follow the sites rules. Appreciate the input. Thanks.

Regular visitors may be using the "Recent Ads" button allowing us to not overlook anything new. So if you make a post, it's gonna be read if the title is of interest to the reader. Bumping it to the top does little for the reader. There seem to be no shortage of buyers, so if you're looking to buy, your local Penny Saver, Recycler, or Craigslist may be the way to go. If you're a regular visitor to the site, you have a better chance seeing when/where someone discusses a vehicle of interest for sale.

Bump or Still looking is considered a bump. Yes, you will need to repost your ad after a week. It's also a good idea to hit the "Mark Sold" button to close your old ad. Thanks for asking. And, the Website Questions forum is where you can aske these types of questions.

Maybe Join, pony up & get a 'gold membership'
it has it's perks, also some free stuff

that'll help the site & your postings & different rules apply
more message storage etc.

Just get creative with your "bump". Post something like "Still looking for a 68 Satellite 4dr, prefer 727 with 8 3/4." Then next time post "looking for a blue 68 Satellite but any color will do" etc.

We might not see something like that. Or we might and delete it. Adding new information, photos, or reducing the price to a Sale ad I will allow. Parts Wanted Ads are different. It's best to just copy and paste it to a new ad after being up for a week.

Already have been doing that. I check all the sites daily. Most of the cars that come up for sale are unfortunately overpriced junk and or heavily modified and almost no 4 doors come up for sale. Nobody seems to want them except for parts cars. I like the 2dr hardtops best too,but 4 drs are more practical for a daily driver and less likely to be stolen. Figured id post a wanted ad here in case someone had a nice running 4 dr I could save from becoming a parts car. Appreciate the advice though.
