Anyone have good or bad experiences from Jethot coatings. Was going to have some headers and exhaust coated at there North Carolina outlet. Thanks in advance.

Don,

I had a set of headers done at the same facility over 5 years ago and they still look new.
no heat blemishes at all.

The headers where new and made from non polished stainless.

Bill

Thank you, I always heard good things about them but was reading thru a thread here where some had issues, I have heard that if your engine runs hot it may damage the coating, hoping to reduce the under the hood temps also.

I used them years and had no complaints. My brother and I have also built headers for a few cars and had them coated by Jethot and were happy with the results.

Best I've seen, and they stand behind their work. Headers are coated inside and out, and this is not a production powder-coating shop.
They've done all my exhaust/headers for the last 20+ years. Bill and his guys are friendly, knowledgeable, and car guys.
All my powder-coating is done there, as well. If i isn't right, it doesn't leave.
They are on FB as well....

Had a set of headers coated and it made a huge difference in underhood temperature.
After a few years they still looked nice but the thermal properties must have worn out and the high underhood temperature returned.

I've had bill do alot of work for me on my last project great guy, no b.s. ever. I knew of the powder coating and ceramic work he does, what I understand from the jet hot process is that its a thicker coating, for more heat insulating for under the hood, I will have to call him and see what he says. thank you.

interesting, thanks for the comment.

On the other hand, a number of years ago, I had a set of headers done by JetHot, and they sucked big time ! The application was so piss poor, and the underside had merely a smoke coating. After I complained, I had to ship them at my expense. Total waste of money. Didn't take long for them to rust. If they've since improved, who knows ? But my personal experience was HORRIBLE. I'd done business with quite a few establishments over the years, this was one of the worst. BAD. VERY BAD.

I saw your post about this in another thread about this which made me wonder how many have had this issue, was this out of the North Carolina shop? thank-you.

It was quite a while back, I think at the time they had a place in Mississippi ? Not sure, don't think it was N.C. But the workmanship was so bad, it was unforgettable.

This ^^ is exactly the way it should be done, unlike the sloppy crap I got from JetHot = The topsides were coated, yet the undersides (as you see here ) were piss-coated.
