What color was the Plymouth Roadrunner 440 block for 1974? Plymouth Blue or Hemi Orange? Also what color was the intake?

"Corporate Blue" was a GM moniker IIRC. Mopar just called it blue.

To the OP, I still have 2 cans of Mopar Blue engine paint P4349217AB left if your interested.

I had to put a little corporate blue on my TH400 before I could put it in a mopar…

The engine has most of the parts on it before it was painted at the factory. Water pump, water neck, balancer, valve covers, intake and exhaust manifolds, oil pump, oil pan, spark plugs and plug wire brackets, ets.

Things not on it were the pullies, alternator and brackets, carb and choke thermostat, engine mounting brackets on the block.

Different years and engine families did different things on temp senders, negative battery cable, vacuum fitting in back of intake, oil dipstick and tube, etc

They were red.
Showed up in 1969. A mid MY change. I’ve seen more than a few.

Here’s a ‘69 Mod Top 318.

Hmm... interesting, I don't recall any from back in the day working on numerous ones. Were they the same blue as showed up later ?
Yes. That’s when it showed up.

On this /6 as well. I haven’t seen many of them to say for sure.

I remember the SB as red until 1970, when the 273 was gone, and noticed the SB 318 was now blue.
My brother purchased a ‘69 Barracuda H/T back in ‘83, and it had the blue 318.

Another ‘69, all original. The /6 was also

red before the blue.

The blue on the dipstick and water pump look factory. Like I said, mid year change in ‘69.

‘69 Fury 318. 5/29 Scheduled build date.

I have a 1969 coronet 318 with a red engine, sept 1969 SPD, built in St Louis. Looks very original and dirty. I better get under and look for the Vin on it and the trans.

Yes the blue came in 1969 model year, even 340's.
Big argument on it on moparts years ago.
