Yeah, a “head rush” is a fair description for a minor version of Vertigo. I’ve read it is usually related to inner ear instability. I’ve had ear issues since I was a kid but my balance is usually great. I used to walk on 2x4 or 2x6 walls 8-14 feet off the ground and while I didn’t get a thrill from it, I could do it to get jobs done.Like you, I find when working on my back, I get what I call a head rush, but maybe it is vertigo? I don’t get dizzy, but once I sit up, after a few seconds, I’m fine.
The Vertigo can sometimes cause nausea.
