What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Been over 20 years since I played and would probably scratch without hitting the rack!
I have been shooting since I was 7 years old. I am still hitting them pretty good and normally one of the top shooters in the league. I felt good last night getting 2 in a row to tie it up….it would have been hard to come back down 4-0 or even 3-1 in a race to 6…

I 'tried' to play at a young age but didn't have a mentor and didn't really know how to go about it but when I got my driver's license and moved away from home (dad shunned pool halls for some reason) my room mate and I would to go to a local hall that had decent tables. Didn't take long to get pretty good but don't recall ever running the table. Got close several times but think I didn't stay calm towards the end and screw up.

Got the team e-mail.. I kicked *** in Playoffs. :bananadance:

Made a plug out of 6061 aluminum, pressed it in the flange where I removed the heat crossover on the 440 Torker II project, and TIG welded it in.

I'll get it all ground and sanded smooth tonight.

Won my wife in a pool game. We were at the bar and her ex was stalking her. He challenged me to a game. He made nothing on the break, so I ran the table and sunk the 8. He stormed out like a %&#$%. My friend said nice game, I said that wasn't a game, that was business.

Nicely done - I need to practice welding more on steel. I have never welded aluminum.

Aluminum is not any harder, but it is different.

You need a welder that has AC to do aluminum, DC for steel, and lots of amps in order to do aluminum well.

I had a small 3/32" bevel filed into the intake metal all the way around both sides since the plug was drove in tight and sticking out about .015" each side.

For that small area the welder was set on 180 amps. I welded the outside first and didn't put as much heat in as the inside weld, so I could make sure

the flange pulled straight. Since I was going to grind it all off there was no need to stack dimes, although I probably should have done it just for practice.

If you get a chance try welding some aluminum.

My only glory day (if one wants to call it that) was after I qualified for my carry license. Qualifying was easy but decided to try and hit the little silhouette that's up in the left top corner of some target silhouettes. I lost a point doing that but was qualified by that point....anyways, took the shot and hit it. The instructor was part of a competition team and asked if I wanted to join. Thought about it but decided against it as it's not cheap (already had enough into cars) and involved some travel.

And we are done. A little more painting the walls and I got my lift back!

So, did you become a sleeper later?

Yesterday I was informed the side cabinet for my tool box was in so I got the garage paint finished up, side box out of the truck and installed, and the mounts, shelves, and everything back to normal.

Met @s/w theo this morning. Hooked him up with a nice 70 Dual Snorkel Air cleaner and talked for awhile. Nice guy to deal with and talk to. Came home with some flowers for my wife then took the pup for a walk. Came back then went out, grabbed some Rib eye steaks and shrimp. Shoveled off our Deck and fired up the grill since it hit 50 here today! Cooked Valentines dinner here since we went out last night to celebrate it. Just finished watching a movie my wife rented which was a Sydney Sweeney movie Anyone But You. It had some funny scenes in it not a bad movie but more her type. Nice day and it sure beats the low temps we have had feeling trapped in your home because it's too cold outside. Better weather for the week ahead.

I had a unit become available at my shop complex.

I have a waiting list and the first person I promised "next available" passed.
It's taken several hours to sift through correspondence to figure out who was actually next in line.
After I notified #2 and #3, #3 pleaded his case so well, That I struck a very unusual deal.
He and his brother will help me unpack, sort and repack three units into two units, so another will become available.
This is basically 32 hours of labor in exchange for 2 months free rent (1 month each), but it nets me an additional $100 a month after the 2 free.

Chalk up another "outside the box" solution.
I've been wanting to free up that unit for some time, but instead of taking things out, I've been putting things in.
Things are packed pretty good in the 2 units that will need to accommodate things from the third.
...and there's things in there like- a cement mixer, a 204V compressor, a tire changer, a 48x72 wood shelf a 60x60 wood shelf, cinder blocks, car fenders and doors and bumpers.....not super easy stuff to move and find a place for.

I hope they know what their getting into....for $6.25 an hour.
