I have not used my 68 Roadrunner wipers for years as I never drive in the rain. So decided I better check whether they worked. Turned the switch on with the key in the ACC position, and both wipers moved about 2 inches up the windshield and stopped. First I though of a blown fuse and looked in my factory manual wiring diagram but don't believe there is a fuse. From another post, I understand there a breaker in the wiper switch as a precaution (that may trip). If the switch trips, does it need to be replaced? It could be that the motor connection to the linkage has frozen in place. I have ordered a new motor, but now wondering, if it is the switch or seized linkage, would a new motor do any good? Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Make sure the motor is grounded. Those old brass straps and mounting spots can lose a ground. Run a jumper from a good ground to an armature bolt.
