Guys i have ran across a complete floor out of another b-body thats in great shape, my question is do i have to release the torsion bars to replace complete floor or are those mounted to a subframe of some sort on the underside, reason i ask is i dont really want to go to all the trouble with the torsion bars maybe just by individual floor pans.

Torsion bars can be left in place but you will have your work cut out for you drilling the factory spot welds. Or if your existing floor is really rotten then you can cut around and chissel off the spot welds then grind them smooth. I have done this before and both jobs suck.

I agree that both jobs suck, but it is well worth doing it correctly. 1 piece is definitely the way to go especially if you have found oem/doner parts. The way I see it you are going to have to drill a bunch of holes in a repop panel in order to weld it in place, the same holes that you will cut in the doner part in order to remove it from the car.

Nope, the torsion bars are attached to the front subframe and don't need to be removed to replace the floors. Come take a look at mine and I'll show you what I did.

I went to the Kramer site and it shows i need a front panel, under the seal panel, and a rear panel, is that correct there is 3 panels that make up the floor on one side. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

How bad is your floor to begin with? All I put in was the four individual floor pans from Sherman & Assoc. and my fab guy made up some smaller patches for in between.

If you have a good original floor then that's probably the way to go but it's lots of work to swap them out!

I had a guy in Newton finish off welding/fitting mine because it was lots of labor and time I didn't have!

I'm actually doing floors in my altered right now and I had bought the six piece set over two years ago before I decided to remove a foot from the floor. The fronts fit really good with minor trimming but the rears are horrible. I will need to seriously pie-cut, weld, hammer, repeat to make them remotely fit. The middle section won't be used at all for my application. These are the Sherman pans in case anyone was wondering.

Release the tension in the bars. They can stay in though.
