putting the shims in between the spindle and the steering arm actually shortens the distance between the ball joints, so while you're increasing negative static camber, you're also minimally reducing negative camber gain on compression
I took a quick peek at their catalog, that's the problem. The 596 will not fit, the dip in the middle of the sway bar indicates it is for an under the k-frame mounting, like a 68-70 B-body. The correct number is 595 which fits E-bodies (same front suspension as a 71-72 Bs).
You need a thick enough spacer to return the wheel to 0 offset. Most spacers of this kind are the bolt on variety. These are the only safe spacer variety. Lots of guys run them hard. I autocrossed on 1" and 1.25" spacers. There very common on the 4x4 market. Properly installed, they don't...
You just need a washer for the rear end (1 9/16 hole vs 5/8). You can re-use your shock mount, and maybe new u-bolts.
The 73/74 rear iso setup is different than the 75+
73-78 B-bodies have different K-frames for Big and Small Block. Their difference is the motor mount locations.
You cannot put a big block in a small block k-frame unless you use Schumacher conversion mounts (and modify the K-frame a little) or want to weld on new mounts.
I know this for Fact...
In the rear, yes.
In the front, no.
The unibody is COMPLETELY different firewall forward (and a few points back) in 73.
In 72 the inner fenders are welded to the frame rails and the unibody. In 73 they became a bolt in design. So there's no shock mounts on the 73+ unibody. Like Revhendo...
ESPO springs and things.
73 was the first year for the iso-mount so the springs are slightly different than the pre 73s.
I used ESPO on my 79 300 and was VERY pleased. The only difference was a round spring eye (YAY!) replaced the oval front spring eye (BOO HISS!)
Cost for the pair shipped...
That's wrong. Changeover year is 73 to the longer torsion bars. And yes, performance bars are available for the 73-79 B-body as well. Most notably from firm feel http://www.firmfeel.com/torsionb_b3.htm
In the front end, the only difference is the disc brake setup (the 79 300 got the 11.75" rotors, and slider calipers). All this means is that order for a 79 300 at the parts houses for replacement parts.
In the rear end, there were more changes, but it mainly deals with the sway bar setup and...
sorry, no more pictures. Doing the math that's a 27" tall tire. Like a 255/60 15. Except over an inch wider, with more rim. And that's a stock-ish suspension rebuild in back.
