Hello fellow Mopar fans. I have dreamed of getting a muscle car and have recently obtained my first, a beautiful to me, 69 Charger. I have been reading a lot on the forum about restoration and cant wait to get into fixing this old girl up. Its originally a base 318 floor shift car, but I have a correct date code 440 and Im working on finding a 4 speed. So when is all said and done I should have an R/T clone

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! Let's see some pics. How did you come accross it and where is it from?

Welcome aboard! good luck on your project, sounds like a winner..

Here is the best pic of the car. The grill is in about 95% condition with only one small crack in the center (easily repairable). I found the car on craigslist and brought it back to the cancer treatment center of Cherry Valley. This is where the car will have many new parts transplanted. Only nice thing is I get to make the car exactly how I want it. No rust a big block and a 4 speed!!!!

calcharger welcome to FBBO from Sonora, Ca. in NorCal, You will love this site for info & chat... Nice 69 Charger project car, you can get some good information, books & restoration parts at Mancini Racing, Magnumforce Racing & maybe some info or parts over at Dodge Charger .com , there is a great resource Mopar related links at Moparts .com also, lots of resources around now... I would suggest 1 of your 1st purchases is a "Factory Service Manual" for your specific year make & model... Good luck with you project...

That car makes me miss my old triple black 69 318 Charger from HS days. Good luck with the project and do ask a lot of questions. Lot's of knowledgeable members always willing to share advice in getting another B body on the road that's restored correctly. Welcome from NOR CAL (SF Bay Area).

Looks pretty solid, A great start to look at it, thanks for posting the picture... again Good luck, You may want to check into a Tremic 4-speed with OD unless you want the period correct A-833..

welcome, enjoy building your project any way you want.

I just started getting into this onl car and have been both happy and sad. The car came from Georgia so I found Georgia beer bottle caps and old unfired rounds, both were as rusted as the car. Where would you guys say is a good place to start a resto if the floors and trunk pan need to be replaced? Or any other suggestions on what to check out first.

I would start by checking the frame rails, shock mounts and get an idea what all it may need. Sucks i know but check the underneath real good and see where you stand. You may want to start a post in the members projects and restoration thread, Check out some of what others are doing, im sure it would help you some. Real nice guys and they im sure would be glad to help you get started... Good luck, try to stay patient, you'll get there to the finished deal!
