My B-Body Strip Car Combo

Here is a rundown on my 63's como:

I use a 1970 440 thats .030 over (446) with the stock bottom end that I installed .030 over KB quench dome pistons that gives me 10.0 comp using my 906 heads I ported and a nice .042 quench so it runs great even on 92 pump.
I used the MP .557 cam I installed on a 104 centerline and it has Isky ductile iron rockers.
It has the Holley Street Dominator intake with a 850DP.
I use a Mallory dist I got real cheap and the MP orange ECU.
Hedman 1-3/4 headers and 3" pipes with Dyno-Max Ultra-Flow mufflers.
I built the 727 basically stock and have TA reverse manual V/B with a 9.5 Dynamic convertor.
8-3/4 with 4.30's and I use Hoosier QTP 29 x 11.5 tires.
I still have the stock leaf springs with air shocks as the body is all stock.
I actually installed the 6 point rollbar before I had ever raced it as I wanted to strenthen the car up more then just the frame connectors I installed and the 6 point bar really helped strenthen the car. I built the car looking for high 11's so when it ran 11.52 @ 116 the last time out I was more then pleased.

I feel it has at least 11.40's in it with some tuning and now I wont have to worry about any hassle from the track having the roll bar.
Alot of guys kept telling me to put a cage in it but this is a 99% street car that I have to get in and out of alot and I want to keep the car as close to a stock body as I can so all I wanted is the 6 point bar which works great. I can run as fast as 10.0's like this and I dont have any plans to ever go faster then that with the car as it will always be a driver street car.

I broke an axle gear tooth the last timem out so I installed a Detroit Locker and I can't wait to get out and try it. When it hooks hard it will get air under the left front wheel.
So far my best is 11.52 @ 116.84 with a best sixty of 1.58 but it was a 1.61 on the 11.52 as it spun a bit on that run.
I love driving the car as much as racing it and driving to the track is really alot of fun as after racing I just pump the Hoosier's up to about 30 psi and then drive home . :) Ron

Nice to able to drive it back and forth from the track and run 11:50's..What track do you usually run at?

Usually Cecil because my brother lives about 4 miles from Cecil and if we would break I can have my car or my son's towed right to my brothers and fix them. :) Ron

Ron...I always like your 63...its a great ride and has exceptional performance..

are you still thinking of putting torque thrust wheels on the front?

How do you pull photo bucket pics back to your computer so you can post them

Thank you. :) Yes I will definetly put the Torque Thrust up front when I can. Money is tight right now so it may have to wait a bit yet but I will get them. And I plan to put another hood on one day with the Max Wedge scoop. Ron

6 or 8 point rollbar is needed for 11.49 or quicker. This will be good down to 9.99. Then a 10 point cage is needed.
I got thrown out of Etown for running 10.77 with NO bar or CAGE. I now have a full cage...
Stay safe- the life you save may be your own.

That is a very nice 66' you have there..The 800 is the right carb for your setup..The cam could handle more, but the heads can't..How much compression?

Go to the album view on your Photobucket page, where you can see all the thumbnail pics.

At the bottom of each pic is 4 box's the last one says "IMG Code" click in that box and copy that link then paste it in your post, like this.

Nice car btw..................
